The Conspicuous consumption from an economic perspective

It is interesting that the first to point out the importance of the Conspicuous consumption other is Thorstein Vbalen in his book (the Luxury Class Theory).

The effect of consumption as a social value in economic theory was only seen when Dozenbri wrote about ((the effect of the tradition)), when it indicated that per capita consumption did not depend on its taste and what it wanted, as much as it was affected by what Consumed by others.

This introduced the idea of overlapping consumer tastes in determining consumer taste. This means that consumption has become a social value. The individual not only consumes what he wants, but consumes what his neighbors and colleagues consume. Hence, we understand the role that the declaration plays in modern times
.

If, in the modern age, consumption, its type and diversity determine to some extent the social status of the family, this has not always been the case. In the old age, the social status was not determined by the individual as much as it consumed, but it was ironic that the individual tried to match the nobles in their lives and tried to derive their social status from an increase Consumer spending .

However, consumption itself is a major social value, and the individual's social status is measured to the extent that it consumes goods and services, and its ability to change continuously, "fashion" is always changing, until it feels The individual needs to change in consumption, resulting in continuous consumption .

The enormous technical progress now available and used in production methods has provided the continuous capacity to increase production and productivity, thereby increasing the opportunities for consumption.

As a result, consumption in modern society has increased in a manner not previously known and has resulted in a set of values and norms governing the life of society in the light of increased consumption. Increasing consumption per se, apart from the needs of this growing consumption, has become a modern-day production base .

This phenomenon has had far-reaching effects on the economy and has serious implications and consequences for social behavior.

.

Francois Dahl says in his book ((Future of Administrative Policies)): ((the consumer's invasion of something exciting...)). The fact that some producing companies are substituting similar goods for less quality and, of course, cheaper, for people to accept, so that the original goods disappear from the market, and then the price of the same item is raised, that this is a model of the consumer temptation models, the style of the conquest methods .

Recent statistics say that one of the factors that represents a pattern in life harms the environment: automobiles, luxury homes, major shopping malls, consumer goods, and the type of food based on over- Eat meat, unhealthy food.

Consumer behaviors are changing today, either because of the revolution of variables and great productivity, or because we are using a consumer attitude to conceal something specific to us, such as our financial or cultural level.

Therefore, our choice was random, as dictated by the designer's taste or by the advertising text on television, and we have no choice as consumers. Sometimes we buy merchandise not to meet a special need, but because it appeared in an interesting advertisement. A large segment of our consumer society does not follow closely, with interest and objectivity, the market conditions within and outside our country.

Moreover, many consumers are attracted by their sense of scarcity, and everything is rare, people race to kidnap them from the markets .
