Surat Al A`raf (81-87)

}إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ النِّسَاء بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ} [الأعراف: 81]

81- You commit sodomy and leave out women whom Allah granted you and they are created for that purpose according to the people of sound nature? No doubt that you transgress the limits of what is lawful to the prohibited, the desirable to the abhorred, and the good to the reprehensible.

Sodomy is a bad immorality that is against nature, a vice, a bad conduct and deviation from manhood. Moreover, it causes serious diseases such as syphilis and the failure of the immune system functions, so the body becomes weak and unable to resist many kinds of infections, as it causes other diseases.

}وَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلاَّ أَن قَالُواْ أَخْرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرْيَتِكُمْ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ} [الأعراف: 82]

82- The answer of the haughty people was: They said to one another after they had refused to accept the advice and turned away from his message: Get Lot and those who followed him out of your village. They also said in irony and sarcasm: They purify themselves from immorality, refuse to practice sodomy, and consider what we do deniable.

}فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلاَّ امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ} [الأعراف: 83]

83- We rescued Lot and his people who believed except his wife who remained with other disbelievers and they all were perished.

}وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَراً فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ} [الأعراف: 84]

84- The retribution of their disobedience and insistence on committing that deniable immorality was: }And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay.} [Surat Al Hijr: 74]. So, see, ponder over, and take a lesson from the consequence of these criminals, moreover let those who commit such immoralities fear the anger and the punishment of Allah on the Day of Recompense.

}وَإِلَى مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْباً قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُواْ اللّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـهٍ غَيْرُهُ قَدْ جَاءتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَوْفُواْ الْكَيْلَ وَالْمِيزَانَ وَلاَ تَبْخَسُواْ النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءهُمْ وَلاَ تُفْسِدُواْ فِي الأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلاَحِهَا ذَلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ} [الأعراف: 85]

85- We sent to the tribe of Midian (near Ma`an) their lineage brother, so he advised and warned them saying: O my people, worship Allah alone and join none in worship with Him. Verily, a clear Ayah and a manifest miracle were sent to you, so listen to the divine guidelines and Prophetic advices that will take you to happiness and salvation:

Give people their due rights either in weight or measurement, set the scale right, do not give people less than their due weights, and do not cheat them in their monies and sales.

Do not spoil the earth with disbelief, injustice, fraud, and treason, after repairing it and its people by divine codes because it is better for you, your society, and family than the oppression and corruption that you were in; that is will happen if you ponder over, understand, and believe in what I am saying and know it is the best.

}وَلاَ تَقْعُدُواْ بِكُلِّ صِرَاطٍ تُوعِدُونَ وَتَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِهِ وَتَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجاً وَاذْكُرُواْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ قَلِيلاً فَكَثَّرَكُمْ وَانظُرُواْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِينَ} [الأعراف: 86]

86- Jethro (peace be upon him) advised his people —when he was called the preacher of Prophets because of his eloquence and good speech — with: Do not sit in roads to frighten people and threaten them with killing and harm. Do not prevent people from Allah's Religion and do not say: Jethro was a liar, so do not let him turn you away from your religion. Indeed, you were threatening those who believed in him by trying them in their religion, and you only want to distort the religion of Allah to match your whims.

Remember that you were few and weak, but He granted you offspring and increased your number until you became large in number.

Ponder over the conditions of the previous nations which were before you like the people of Noah, `Ad, Thanmud, and Lot and remember what had happened to them as a result of their corruption, disobedience, and belying their messengers.

}وَإِن كَانَ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنكُمْ آمَنُواْ بِالَّذِي أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ وَطَآئِفَةٌ لَّمْ يْؤْمِنُواْ فَاصْبِرُواْ حَتَّى يَحْكُمَ اللّهُ بَيْنَنَا وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الْحَاكِمِينَ} [الأعراف: 87]

87- If a group of you were guided and believed in the truthfulness of my message and another group went astray, disbelieved, and refused to believe in me, so [O disbelievers,] wait until Allah judges between you and us, then you shall see the wisdom of the Just and how He gives victory to the one who has the right and frustrates the wrong doer, and He (Glory be to Him) is the Most Just Ruler.
