Does the phone work without charging?

Does the car move without gasoline?

Does the plane fly without wings?

No, but these vehicles remain worthless.

Man without faith is worthless, has no salvation, and has no weigh; how is that? "And whoever assigns partners to Allah, it is as if he had fallen from the sky, and the birds had snatched him, or the wind had thrown him to a far off place." [Surat Al Hajj: 31].

Pay attention, you have the most important stop in purification and provision straight ahead; it is the month of fasting, the month of the Qur'an, the month of benevolence, the month of faith. Faith is the elixir of life, the light of foreheads, and the outcome of Salah, fasting, and Zakah. Nothing keeps man safe and patient for the worldly hardships but faith and nothing keeps him safe from desires and lusts but faith. So, a person who has this strong faith is powerful and his power is the source of power to the entire society. The society which has faithful people is happy but it will be wretched if it has unfaithful members who do not provide help for a friend, do not enlighten the way, do not frighten the enemy, do not achieve renaissance or goals.

Times go on, life continues, the way to Allah (Glory be to Him) is long, and the reckoning before Allah is severe. There is no day begins but a caller from Allah (Glory be to Him) calls: O son of Adam, I am a creation [of Allah] and a witness to your actions, so seize me for I am not coming back until the Day of Recompense. Days go one after another, people fight in between, and sins increase everyday. Days must be seized, people must take provision, and sins must be purified. How and when? You have stops on the way to increase faith in your hearts. You have stops to wash off sins by pardon.

You have daily stops:

The obligatory Salah: "Verily, As-Salât (the prayer) is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours." [Surat An-Nisa': 103]. "And perform As-Salât (Iqamât-as-Salât). Verily, As-Salât (the prayer) prevents from Al-Fahshâ' (i.e. great sins of every kind, unlawful sexual intercourse) and Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism, and every kind of evil wicked deed) and the remembering (praising) of (you by) Allâh (in front of the angels) is greater indeed [than your remembering (praising) of Allâh in prayers]. And Allâh knows what you do." [Surat Al `Akabut: 45].

`Abdullah ibn Mas`ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "You are burning, you are burning [by sins], but if you pray the morning Salah, Salah washes it. Then you are burning, you are burning [by sins], but if you pray the Zhuhr Salah, Salah washes it. Then you are burning, you are burning then you pray the `Asr Salah and it washes this. Then you are burning, you are burning then you pray the Maghrib Salah and it washes this. Then you are burning, you are burning then you pray the `Isha' Salah and it washes this. Then you sleep and do nothing is written until you wake up." [Reported by At-Tabarany in Al Mu`jam As-Saghir and Al Awsat, and its chain of transmission is good].

Weekly:

(1) Al Jumu`ah [Friday] Salah: "O you who believe (Muslims)! When the call is proclaimed for the Salat (prayer) on the day of Friday (Jumu'ah prayer), come to the remembrance of Allah [Jumu'ah religious talk (Khutbah) and Salat (prayer)] and leave off business (and every other thing), that is better for you if you did but know!" [Surat Al Jumu`ah: 9].

"The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created. on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. And the last hour will take place on no day other than Friday."

[Authentic, See Hadith No. 3333 in Sahih Al Jami`].

(2) Fasting every Monday and Thursday:

"Actions are lifted on Mondays and Thursdays, and I love that my deeds to be taken up while I am fasting." [Authentic, See Hadith No. 1583 in Sahih Al Jami`].

Monthly:

Fasting on the White Days of each month [The White Days are the 13th, 14th and 15th days of every Hijri month]. Abu Dhar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "If you want to observe Sawm on three days in a month, then fast on the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth of the (lunar) month."

[At-Tirmidhy graded it as good, P. 228].

Yearly:

It is the greatest stop, the best righteous action, and the greatest occasion of good, moreover it is one of the best occasions of mercy, and one of the sweetest occasions of obedience. "The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur'ân, a guidance for mankind." [Surat Al Baqarah: 185]. Therefore, the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to call Allah saying: O Allah, make us attend Ramadan. O Allah, make us attend Ramadan and accept from us Rajab and Sha`ban. Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) ordained fasting on the Muslim nation to purify their souls, strengthen their hearts, purify their chests, raise their status, and to forgive their sins to feel the poverty of the hungry, the lost needy person, the broken orphan, and the subdued supporter to strengthen their wills, to raise their determinations, increase their belief, and to draw nearer to their Lord.

It contains Laylat-ul-Qadr (the Night of Decree):

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "There has come to your Ramadan, a blessed month, which Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has enjoined you to fast. In it the gates of heavens are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and every devil is chained up. In it Allah has a night which is better than a thousand months; whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived." [Authentic, See Hadith No. 55 in Sahih Al Jami`]. Allah (may He be Exalted) says: "Verily, We have sent it (this Qur'ân) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree). * And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is? * The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allâh in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months). * Therein descend the angels and the Rûh [Jibrîl (Gabriel)] by Allâh's Permission with all Decrees, (All that night), there is Peace (and Goodness from Allâh to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn." [Surat Al Qadr: 1 - 5].

These are mercies from your Lord, so seize them. These are blessings from your Lord, so benefit therefrom perhaps one of you is hit by one of them and is never wretched. The Prophet (peace be upon him) says: "Do good throughout your life and be liable to the donations of Allah's Mercy, because Allah has donations from His mercy which He grants to whomever He likes from His Servants; and ask Allah to cover your private parts (honors) and calm down your fears." [A good Hadith].

Lifetime:

It happens once in lifetime such as the obligation of Hajj. "In it are manifest signs (for example), the Maqâm (place) of Ibrâhîm (Abraham); whosoever enters it, he attains security. And Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Ka`bah) is a duty that mankind owes to Allâh, those who can afford the expenses (for one's conveyance, provision and residence); and whoever disbelieves [i.e. denies Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah), then he is a disbeliever of Allâh], then Allâh stands not in need of any of the 'Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)." [Surat Al `Imran: 97].

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever performs Hajj (pilgrimage) and does not have sexual relations (with his wife), nor commits sin, nor disputes unjustly (during Hajj), then he returns from Hajj as pure and free from sins as on the day on which his mother gave birth to him.'' [Reported by Al Bukhari and Muslim].

Around the clock but rather every second:

(1) Seeking the forgiveness of Allah: Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "If anyone constantly seeks pardon (from Allah), Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress and a relief from every anxiety, and will provide sustenance for him from where he expects not." [It may be applied in virtuous actions].

(2) Dhikr [mentioning Allah]: Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "If anyone constantly seeks pardon (from Allah), Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress and a relief from every anxiety, and will provide sustenance for him from where he expects not."

(3) Reciting the Qur'an: The Glorious Qur'an contains the Ayahs of Allah, His Names and Attributes, in addition to the attributes of the believers, the disbelievers, hypocrites and their final destination. It also contains Paradise and Hell-Fire, the promise and the threat, exhortation and intimidation, and command and prohibition. Allah (Glory be to Him) says: "And We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur'an) as an exposition of everything, a guidance, a mercy, and glad tidings for those who have submitted themselves (to Allâh as Muslims)." [Surat An-Nahl: 89].

* How not while it is the spirit which spreads within the nation? "And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad peace be upon him) Rûh (a Revelation, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Qur'ân) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad peace be upon him) are indeed guiding (mankind) to a Straight Path (i.e. Allâh's religion of Islâmic Monotheism)." [Surat Ash-Shura: 52].

* How not while it is a life for the nation? "Is he who was dead (without Faith by ignorance and disbelief) and We gave him life (by knowledge and Faith) and set for him a light (of Belief) whereby he can walk amongst men, like him who is in the darkness (of disbelief, polytheism and hypocrisy) from which he can never come out?" [Surat Al An`am: 122].

* How not while it is a cure? "And We send down from the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism and act on it), and it increases the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) nothing but loss." [Surat Al Isra': 82].

* How not while it is the way of guidance to the things which reform countries and people. "Verily, this Qur'ân guides to that which is most just and right." [Surat Al Isra': 9].

* How not while it is the strong rope of Allah, His clear light, and His Straight Path? Whoever uses the Qur'an is truthful, whoever judges according to the Qur'an is just, whoever acts according to it is rewarded, and whoever calls to it is guided to the Straight Path.

A Muslim needs these stops to take provision, increase his faith, and purify himself.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The five (daily) Salah (prayers), and from one Friday Salah to the (next) Friday Salah, and from Ramadan to Ramadan are expiations for the (sins) committed in between (their intervals); provided the major sins are not committed." [Reported by Muslim].

Most of these stops are found in the month of Ramadan even `Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) during Ramadan equals pilgrimage.

It is the greatest stop for acquiring faith, purifying sins, and capturing souls with benevolence.

Therefore, a Muslim must take a heed, do not show negligence or laziness, but he should work and extract goodness.

If you have sins as huge as mountains and you fast this month as Allah willed without watching series and without corrupt intentions, your sins shall be forgiven."Whoever fasts Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven." [Reported by Al Bukhari and Muslim]. Yes, the nation which seizes these stops are coming: A nation fights for the sake of Allah, fills masjids, enjoins goodness, forbids evil, says "stop" to tyrants and oppressors, says "remember" to the neglectful, says "learn" to the ignorant, says "repent" to the sinner, and says "be guided" to the straying.

We want to see that faith embodied, that faith which comes out from the hearts of masjids during the month of Ramadan, in pilgrimage, and in voluntary acts to shake the bottoms of hearts by the mention of Allah and to remind the nation with Allah. "But warn by the Qur'ân him who fears My Threat." [Surat Qaf: 45]. And peace be upon Prophet Muhammad, upon his family, and his Companions. And praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
