among the actions that a Muslim can (perform) to gain intercession; the following:

1: Saying “La Ilaha Illala” especially from the heart

Because of the Hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: “I said: oh Messenger of Allah. Who are the happiest of people with their intercession on the Day of Resurrection? He said: “O Abu Huraira! I have thought that none will ask me about this Hadith before you, as I know your longing for the (learning of) Hadiths. The luckiest person who will have my intercession on the Day of Resurrection will be the one who said, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' sincerely from the bottom of his heart”[1]

2: Saying the reported Zikr (remembrance) after the Athan

That is what came in the Hadith of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever after listening to the Adhan says:

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ , وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ , آتِ مُحَمَّدًا الْوَسِيلَةَ , وَالْفَضِيلَةَ وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ

Allahumma Rabba hadhihi-dda` watit-tammah, was-salatil qa'imah, ati Muhammadan al-wasilata wal-fadilah, wa b`ath-hu maqaman mahmudan-il-ladhi wa`adtahu

“O Allah! Lord of this perfect call (perfect by not ascribing partners to You) and of the regular prayer which is going to be established, give Muhammad the right of intercession and illustriousness, and resurrect him to the best and the highest place in Paradise that You promised him (of)”

Then my intercession for him will be allowed on the Day of Resurrection”[2]

3: Patience upon the extremes of Medina and its Awa

Because of the Hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “For one among my Ummah who shows endurance against the Awa of Medina, I would be an intercessor or a witness on his behalf on the Day of Resurrection.[3] What is mean by awa: its harshness and difficulty in living in it.

4: Death in Medina

Because of the Hadith of Ibn Omar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever among you can die in Al-Madinah, let him do so, for I will bear witness in favor of those who die there.”[4]

Benefit: There are deeds that prevent a slave from being interceded for on the Day of Resurrection. Among those: those who increase in cursing; it came in Sahih Muslim the Hadith of Abu Al Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The invoker of curse would neither be intercessor nor witness on the Day of Resurrection”[5] Al Nawawi (may Allah be pleased with him said: “as for his words (peace be upon him): “(They will) not be those who will be interceded for nor (be) witnesses on the Day of Resurrection”; it means: they will not be interceded for on the Day of Resurrection when the believers will be interceded for with their brothers who were obliged (to enter) the fire”

“Nor (be) witnesses”; it has 3 sayings, the most correct and authentic of them: they will not be witnesses on the Day of Resurrection over the communities (regarding) the communication of the messages of their Messengers to them; the second: they will not be witnesses in the world, meaning: their witness of their liberty and the third: they will not earn martyrdom, which is death for the sake of Allah”[6]

You will know dear reader from what has passed, what specializes the intercession at that great moment when people are interceded for by their Prophets PBUT and then they finish (by going) to Mohammed (peace be upon him) so he intercedes for them. After this period, people look at reckoning and Allah Almighty comes to the stage of judgement and reckoning. Our Lord! (We ask for) Your mercy! (We ask for) Your mercy!
