The economic meaning of Fasting

Fasting is a great school,
and in fasting is the full participation of rich and poor, and in fasting a chance to raise faculty of honesty in the feeling of fasting, and the obligatory fasting is raises in the psychology of the fasting faculty of the system. In short words: Fasting is one of the pillars of Islam and its five pillars. It came in the Holy Hadith ((fasting for me and I am dressed in it)) .

On the other hand,
it is a sense of fasting that it is a constipation from the lust of the abdomen, in the economic sense: Reduce spending, any rationalization in a more precise sense. In our contemporary life, however, we see a Direct relation between the month of fasting and the gluttony of consumption. One would be surprised by this consumer insatiable widespread in the general public this month without Rationality justification .

Everyone is running toward the cycle of excessive consumption, and preparing for consumption in Ramadan begins early, accompanied by an awesome bale of advertising and marketing festivals that surround the family everywhere And time and through more than one means. The wife presses toward buying more and the boys insist on their consumer demands and one himself has a gluttony condition to buy anything that is expendable and in too much quantities
.

Unfortunately
, some people are accustomed to some bad habits that are alien to the month of Ramadan, which is the way of consumer spending and is not from Islam.

It is common among us that woman are more extravagant than man in their clothing or spending, but there are men who are more extravagant in their money, behavior and possessions, which is relative to the size of Individual of temptations towards extravagance.

The question remains: Which one is more extravagant than the man or the woman or both ?!.

The truth is that both man and woman are responsible, although extravagance and Profligacy are more in a relatively feminist society.

Therefore, the wife who is counted and cooked and the husband who brings and spends both are accused of binge consuming our society in Ramadan and other than Ramadan.

In terms of statistics and figures, one year, the share of Ramadan was estimated to be 20% of the total annual consumption in one Arab country, that is, it is consumed in one month, the month of Ramadan, five Its entire annual consumption, while in the remaining four months it consumes the remaining five-fifths, and Ramadan in that year cost the Treasury about 720 million dollars .

Some recent studies suggest that food is dumped and destroyed and placed in the garbage bins to the extent that in some cases it may amount to 45% of the volume of garbage.

A field study on the extravagance and Profligacy of food thrown in one city in a country, the result was that the daily extravagance of about 1 million lira and the annual extravagance of 365 million lira.

So, in general, it can be said that the extravagance of this month (Ramadan) and others is a characteristic of our Arab region  When the month of Ramadan comes, we see a majority of Muslims are monitoring a budget in the normal months, starting to double its consumption. Daytime fasting, laziness, and night are extraordinary food and consumption .

They forgot or they bury that shortening daily meals from three to two meals is a good opportunity to reduce the level of consumption and is a favorable opportunity for our economies, especially as we are a consuming nation that has indicated all Statistics show that all of our countries consume more than their production and import more than export, and what this excess consumption is always and the excess import is often only two serious economic factors that are dangerous in their woes General budgets and balance of payments.

everyone knows that, the spending that is to  be elevated in Ramadan cannot be consistent with the situation of our Muslim societies, which are mostly developing societies that require the preservation of every effort and every possibility of waste and what we make in Ramadan It is certainly is a waste of material potential and a waste of lofty values and a waste of the behavior of his conviction .

It is known that the ever-increasing consumption means more dependence on the outside; it is because we have not yet reached the stage of self-sufficiency or a reasonable level to provide our consumption needs Depending on our own resources and our own efforts, this has a more serious dimension of a nutritional dependency situation for the other who owns these resources and can control their quality, their quantity and the time which they will  sent to us .

Therefore, consumption has many serious dimensions that threaten our economic life and also threaten our national security, so is Ramadan a chance and a space to have the will to address our devouring consumption situation in This holy month ?!!.

The characteristic of the Muslim's consumption is sufficiency, not Profligacy, and its usefulness and satisfaction is achieved not only by material gratification, but also by spiritual gratification in performing the duty towards Muslims from the wealth of God he has given him. His benefit is fulfilled even in his duty towards the Muslims and before that his family, his wife and his son.

Therefore, the Muslim Seeks the pleasure of Allah Almighty, thanking Allaah for his grace and praise for the benefit of filling his needs, attaining his pleasure and sufficiency in illegal gain, and Seeking the pleasure of Allah and his reward .

The month of fasting is a regular opportunity to learn about the list of expenses due to the economic concept, the expenditure list and then an opportunity to prioritize, and then also an opportunity to identify the level of potential surplus .

Then, the month of Ramadan is an opportunity to achieve better rationalization, and to expand the potential surplus pot, but provided that it is linked to the well-known Qur'anic rule of the Qur'an: (Eat, drink, and do not be extravagant... ( This rule is undoubtedly the field of rationalization at the individual level and the general level.

The researchers have emphasized the important fact that the chaos of consumption emerges clearly, when the wife begins to offer her expenses to be  make expenses of goods and foodstuffs that actually swallow the monthly income to the last penny Fanatic Members.

The contagion of the waste goes to the children and the lack of sense of the value of things grows, so they do not keep their toys or books. As such, it is not a current temporal issue, but a question that extends to the future and that extravagance and luxury are not confined to the family but also to the homeland. The month of Ramadan is being transformed year after year into an occasion for the intensive and steep promotion of various commodities, with the strong contribution of various media, advertising arts and advertising agencies
.

Thus, religious sentiments are increasingly being exploited as a means of expanding the market, and sometimes even for the promotion of the most remote goods from religion.

We therefore stress that the key to real crisis resolution lies in consumer education. Ramadan is an attempt to forge a rational consumption pattern and a one-month intensive training process can make the person understand that he can by  eliminating consumption, consuming some vocabulary in his daily life and for hours Long every day. It is an educational attempt to break the consumer gluttony that the social and psychological scientists have agreed to be a pathological condition .

In conclusion, the most important treatments through which to address or mitigate consumer consumption are :

First, harmful consumer values should be eliminated so that consumption does not cause poverty in the midst of prosperity, as it can continue to waste family resources .

Second: It is desirable to estimate the quantities required, the quality, the quality and the time period for the consumption of goods and products .

Thirdly, we must curb our emotional emotions about the quantities that we should buy  and consume at the level of children, women and families .

Fourth: we should   Beware of the tradition of affluent societies with a lavish and wasteful consumption pattern .

And I want to say to mu muslin sister, when you feel that the motivation of spending pushes you to more extravagance and prodigality, shopping, buying, binge consumption, follow the steps below :

1 ) Wait a bit before you get your money out and ask yourself if this feeling is real or emotional .

2 ) Make sure that you do not buy the love of others with gifts or imitate them and simulate them with excessive spending.

3 ) Ask yourself before you buy if you can buy better than this after you have a better price offer.

The end , if we collect everything that was spent on petty things in a unified fund and then spend them to help poor people and make them smile . All of us will live happily.
