Consumption for an economic perspective

Eric Frome says in his book  own or we are the propensity to consume is a tendency to swallow the whole world and the human consumer is a baby that is not  cease shouting to request the bottle and this is illustrated in phenomena Especially pathological such as drug addiction and alcohol. He further argues that cars, televisions, tourism are the main subjects of contemporary consumerism.

As that consumption is a form of possession and is perhaps the most important in contemporary industrial abundance and consumption societies with contradictory features: consumption is a process that reduces anxiety, because what it possesses the human being cannot be extracted but the process pushes the human to more consumption because all of the previous consumption soon loses its impact and thus the identity of the contemporary consumer to sum up the formula by The following: I exist as much as What I have and I consume.

In the 19th century A.D., everything was acquired and cared for to become the subject of care is used to the last limit of use.  Things were bought to keep them and the motto of that century was what a beautiful old.

Today, we see a constant emphasis on consumption and not on conservation. Things are bought to be thrown.  Whatever the thing that buys a car or clothes or a machine from any kind, the person quickly gets bored of it, becomes eager to get rid of the old and buy another model, and that is the vicious circle, the circle of consumption- purchase, the motto of today: what a beautiful new .

Perhaps the private car is the most important example of the consumer-purchasing phenomenon, this era deserves to be called the era of the car, where our economy was built around the production or installation of cars, buying and selling them.

There has been much controversy about: does a man have or does not have? This means the choice between the life of asceticism and the life of avaricious, and includes the lost fun and unlimited pleasure, but this choice loses most of its meaning If we focus on each individual behavior individually, and do not look at the attitude or direction on which the behavior is based in general, the ascetic is always preoccupied with being away from pleasure, perhaps his behavior is only an attempt to ignore unbridled desires for ownership and consumption, it is true that the ascetic person can suppress these desires, but trying to suppress the desire for possession and consumption may involve the fact that the person is no less preoccupied with them than other .

A large number of books have been published in the past few years, calling for the economy to be subject to the needs of the people in order to ensure the survival of the first, and to improve the quality of life of people second .

Most authors agree that the physical increase of consumption does not necessarily mean an improvement in the quality of life and that a spiritual and moral change in the structure of the personality must go hand in side with Necessary social changes and that if we do not stop wasting our natural resources and compromising the environment conditions for the survival of the human species, the catastrophe can be seen within a few years coming.

So, Schumacher shows in his little book is beautiful that our failures are the result of our successes, and calls for the development of technology in the service of the real needs of man Schumacher says  economy as the content of life, fatal disease because infinite development does not fit a finite world, and it has taught us and still speak to Schumacher the messages of the great teachers of humanity that the economy should not be the content of life, and the reality of the pension today clearly demonstrates the impossibility of that .

The state's task is to determine the criterion for rational consumption in the satisfactory of consumption or arbitrary consumption, because people can only turn to rational consumption if a growing number of them feel desire to change their consumption patterns and lifestyles, and this will only be possible if people are offered a more attractive and convincing consumer pattern than they used to be, and it won't happen one day. and night, as it will not happen by decree or legislation, but  it requires of pedagogical and educational.

We will be able to achieve rational consumption only if we set limits on the right of large productive enterprises to make the only basis for production is profit and expansion.

The task is to build a healthy economy for healthy people and the first decisive step to achieve this goal is to guide production for a new kind of rational consumption.

History has watched a long time when a few elite have been enjoying only forms of pleasures and empty pleasures, but these few have been able to retain their mental powers, because they knew Power is in its grasp, and it has to think and work to preserve it, but today the empty life of consumption is practiced by the middle class as a whole.

The benefits of consumer happiness have become known to the majority of citizens in the west, but a growing number of beneficiaries are beginning to realize that they are not enough, starting to realize that a lot of acquisition It doesn't mean a good, happy life.

Therefore, in the Holy Qur'an, invited the almighty (woe unto every slandering traducer , who hath gathered wealth of this world and arranged (1) He thinks that his wealth will render him immortal (2) Nay but verity he will be flung to the consuming one (3)) Al-Humazah 1-3   . Good life, and until the human being uses his mind and vision (and guided him to the poring of the mountain ways  )) Al-Balad 10 ..
