How to put on and take off a garment and shoes

It is desirable to start wearing the garment, shoes, trousers and of the like with the right hand or the right leg. Likewise, it is desirable to apply Kohl, use Siwak, clip the nails, trim the moustache, pluck the hair under one's armpits, shave the head, enter the Masjid, get out of bathroom, perform ablution, complete ritual bathing, eat, drink, hand shake, Tawaf, take something from a person or give it to him with the right hand.

`A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to like to start from the right side on wearing shoes, combing his hair and cleaning or washing himself and on doing anything else.

`A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: The Prophet (peace be upon him) used his right hand for getting water for ablution and taking food, and his left hand for his evacuation and for anything repugnant.

Hafsah, the Mother of the Believers, (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used his right hand for taking his food and drink and used his left hand for other purposes.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: When you put on (a garment) and when you perform ablution, you should begin with your right side.
