The heavy and the light

The truth is heavy because of its high status, but falsehood is light because of its meanness and abjection.

The truth granted its people sedateness, reason, steadiness, regularity, and stability, but falsehood granted its followers lightness, heedlessness, manipulation, and confusion. Today, Satan may confuse Muslims and make them prefer silence to showing the truth and withholding knowledge rather than spreading it, claiming that it is part of reasoning and prudence.

Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says: "Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds], * Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds)." [Surat Al Qiyamah: 14 - 15].

True scholars are not affected by events, are not tricked by facts and new events, and are not deceived by the common or the media, but they are on the straight path, submitting to the revealed legislation and applying Allah's Religion in their lives. When it was said to Sufyan Ath-Thawry (may Allah bestow mercy on his soul): People talked too much about the Mahdi, he said with all firmness and heaviness: "If he passes by your door, do not follow him until people follow him." [Reported by Abu Nu`aym in "Al Hilyah" (7/ 31)].

Al Marwazy said: I let Ibrahim Al Husary enter to Imam Ahmad -and Ibrahim was a pious man- he said: My mother saw a good vision for you and he mentioned Paradise.

Thereupon, Ahmad said: O my Muslim brother, Sahl ibn Salamah used to narrate such visions then he shed blood; a good vision pleases a believer but does not deceive him. [As-Siyar (biographies) of Adh-Dhahaby (11 / 227)].

As for those who choose manipulation and hesitation between falsehood and the truth, every day they have a new way and doctrine as it was said to a preacher: What is your doctrine? He said: In which country you mean!

So, do not follow falsehood and be firm on the truth whatever hard it is, as it was the way of pious men before you.

Know that falsehood does not pay and will lead you to Hell-Fire, but the truth will lead you to Paradise with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).

Remember that telling and following the truth is the only way to paradise and you have to bear hardships to convey it.

May Allah grant us certainty which comforts souls and do not depend but upon it.
