Abundant reward for few actions

The mercy of Allah is wide, for He rewards abundantly for few actions if the action is done sincerely for the sake of Allah without any act of polytheism whether minor or major, and as long as a believer does the action away from prohibited matters whether in his food, drink, clothes.

The heaviest thing in the scale of deeds is the word of monotheism.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "He who recites after every Salah: Subhan-Allah (Allah is free from imperfection) thirty-three times; Al Hamdulillah (praise be to Allah) thirty-three times; Allahu Akbar (Allah is Greatest) thirty-three times; and completes the hundred with: La ilaha illallahu, Wahdahu La Sharika Lahu, lahul-Mulku Wa Lahul-Hamdu, Wa Huwa `Ala kulli shay'in Qadir (there is no true god except Allah. He is One and He has no partner with Him. His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is Omnipotent), will have all his sins pardoned even if they may be as large as the foam on the surface of the sea."[1]

If a sinner realizes that Allah has one hundred parts of mercy, and only one of them is sent down to earth for people to deal in, and He kept 99 parts for Himself to bestow on the souls of His Believing Servants who died on the pure monotheism, so can you imagine the wide mercy of Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He)?[2]

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "While a man was walking on a road, he became very thirsty. Then he came across a well, got down into it, drank (of its water) and then came out. Meanwhile he saw a dog panting and licking mud because of excessive thirst. The man said to himself: "This dog is suffering from the same state of thirst as I did." So, he went down the well (again) and filled his shoe (with water) and held it in his mouth and watered the dog. Allah thanked him for that deed and forgave him." The people asked: "O Allah's Messenger! Is there a reward for us in serving the animals?" He said: "(Yes,) there is a reward for serving any animate (living being)."[3]

So, if Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) bestowed mercy on a prostitute because of a gulp of water which she offered to a dog despite the meaningless of a gulp of water or the status of a dog, how would be the reward of good actions?!

This action, which was small in effort, had a great reward because the heart of the prostitute was full of human feelings, senses, and mercy for every living animal. Indeed, these feelings are great in the scale of deeds in the sight of Allah regardless the person who gushed them and regardless the action and its consequences.

Therefore, the one who repents sincerely is the like the one who had not committed a mistake yet.

So, do you doubt the hope which Allah spoke about in this Ayah: "It may be that your Lord will remit from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise)." [Surat At-Tahrim: 8].

[2] Quoted from a Hadith reported by Imam Muslim in his Sahih, book of repentance (8/96).

[3] Reported by Imam Muslim in the book of drinks (7/44), and in another narration at Muslim that a prostitute saw a dog in a sunny circling around a well and his tongue is getting out due to severe thirst She drew some water for it in her shoe, and she was forgiven. Another narration is reported in Sahih Al Bukhari, in the book of Prophets (4/148) of the like.
