You are a millionaire but you do not know

- Have you tried one day to fold your eyes with a piece of cloth and try to watch a movie, a series, or a program? Then you shall know the value of your eyes which Allah granted you.

- Have you tried one day to tie your hands from behind and try to eat, work, or answer the call of nature? Then you shall realize the value of the hands which Allah granted you.

- Have you tried one day to block your ear, shut your mouth, and speak with sign language. Then you shall realize the value of ears and mouth which Allah granted you to listen, speak, taste, and eat.

- Have you tried one day to tie your feet while going to work or moving from a place to another and make someone to carry you and after awhile he feels upset because you are a burden to him?

- Have you seen an insane person walking in the street and behaves badly? Then you shall realize the blessing of reason which Allah granted you.

Statistics say:

There are 27.000 diseases, and the dictionaries of diseases still adding numbers of diseases that are being discovered annually. There are diseases that either were not known before but now they became known or diseases that did not exist before but now they exist because of peoples' sins; so how do we know the value of this blessing?

A person knows the value of health after sickness and knows the blessing of richness after poverty. So, a person thanks Allah (Blessed and Exalted be He) for health after sickness and thanks Allah (may He be Exalted) for the blessing of prosperity, sustenance, and rendering his debts after insolvency, hardship, poverty, and need. A person thanks Allah (Blessed and Exalted be He) for the blessing of freedom after the restriction of freedom, and thanks Allah (Blessed and Exalted be He) for the blessing of power after weakness. All these situations are wrong because a person should draw nearer to Allah in the time of prosperity so that He would know you in the time of adversity.

You should thank Allah (Blessed and Exalted be He) for the blessings He granted you before you are tested with losing things and before you know the opposite. It is true that knowing things and their opposites help in differentiating matters. The owner of gold who knows the value of the gold, pearl, and dimonds he has does not need to compare gold to stone and dust to know its value. So, know the value of health which Allah (Blessed and Exalted be He) granted you.

Which is better for you: Money or health? There is no doubt that health is better than money. Some people may lose sight of that, so they seek deals and money without paying attention to his health, but the Prophet (peace be upon him) explains to us: (There is no harm in richness for those who fear Allah, and health is better than richness for those who fear Allah).

Health is better than money, and if the money of the entire world had been put in compare to pain or sickness, health and soundness are better than the money of the entire world, but man does not know the worth of blessings.

It was reported in the authentic Hadith that was reported by Al Bukhari, At-Tirmidhi, and others: "Whosoever begins the day feeling family security and good health; and possessing provision for his day is as though he possesed the whole world."

Abu Hamid Al Ghazali (may Allah bestow mercy on his soul) gave an example in his book "Ihya' `Ulum Ad-Din" saying: You claim that you are poor! Can you sell the blessing of sight for ten thousand dirhams? Can you sell the blessing of hearing for ten thousand dirhams? Can you sell such and such?

Is there anyone who complains about poverty and wants to become a millionaire, replacing the blessing of the sight for a million dollar? Is there anyone who can replace the blessing of hearing with one million dollars?

If the blessing of sight and hearing you cannot replace with one million dollars, you are a millionaire while you do not know.

After all these, if part of the body is infected and you have millions of dollars, you are ready to pay all of them to cure your disease.

Therefore, after we had known the value of this blessing to preserve it. The wise saying goes: "Health is a crown on the heads of healthy people but is not seen except by sick people."

I would like to add here for every sick person:

Thank Allah for your sickness because others wish to be in your shoes because their sickness is severer.

My message to every healthy person whom Allah granted health and wellness: Praise and thank Allah a lot and benefit from your health in thanking and obeying Him
