The Qur’an Describes Night and Day

Through a series of taken photos by satellite, specifically the Area where we can see the night overlaps with the day, we have to look attentively at the greatness of this phenomenon and how the Qur'an told us about it. ….

For many centuries, people believed that earth is flat with no idea that earth is spherical. But holly Qur'an told us about this cosmic reality when God described this phenomenon by using the word (roll).

Because of the continuous move of earth and if the sun is not existed to ensure needed light for the day also without the spherical shape of earth, "night and day rotation phenomenon "Wouldn't happen.  

Night swim along in space

Night and day moves with the same speed and they swim around earth due to earth rotation around itself, God says: “It is He who created the Night and the Day, and the sun and the moon: all (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its rounded course.” (Surah Al- Anbiyaa - verse 33), we have to look attentively at (all swim along, each in its rounded course), as sun has its rounded course and moon has its rounded course , also there is a continuous and organized move for day and night as a proof that earth is spherical .

Moon rotate around earth in specific orbit and earth rotate around sun in specific orbit, also night rotate around earth and overlap with day .therefore movement speed of night and day is the same as rotation speed of earth around its core.

Night merges into day

Night and day overlaps along a circle surrounds earth in an area where sun set happens on one side and sun rise happens on the other side. God says: “do not you see that Allah merges Night into Day and He merges Day into Night; that He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His law), each running its course for a term appointed; and that Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do?” (Surah Luqman - verse 29)

This image illustrate night and day on earth , we have to notice that the borderline between night and day is a circle surrounds earth , this circle moves as earth move whereas day moves from point to another till it cover all earth during the 24 hour. This happens every day.

Night surrounds day in a circular shape

The overlap area is not straight or tortuous but it is in a shape of a circle that surrounds earth. God says in holy Qur'an: “He has created the heavens and the earth with truth. He makes the night to roll in the day and makes the day to roll in the night. And He has subjected the sun and the moon. Each runs (on a fixed course) for an appointed term. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving.” (Surah Az-Zumar - verse 5). The word roll means that night goes into day in a circular shape like a ball. This verse is a sign that earth is spherical.

Night moves toward west and covers the day from all sides, on the other side of earth the day moves toward east trying to reach the night. This process happens continuously.

The separating area between night and day

The area which separates night from day appears as a thin thread that separates darkness from light. God says: “You can eat and drink until the white thread of dawn appears to you distinct from its black thread” (Surah Al-Baqarah - verse 187) this verse tells us about a separating area and the dawn in the middle between both of them.

We can see a separating line between night and day and between darkness and light. This line surrounds earth and pass through the two poles

Many differences between night and day

Scientists confirm that there are many differences between area of the day and area of the night in: temperature, amount of falling cosmic rays on both of them, moon effect (tides) and creatures and plants way of living ….. These differences are very important to continuing life on earth. For example, Plants wouldn't be able to grow without alternation of night and day.

Qur'an told us about those differences, God says: “Behold in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of Night and Day, there are indeed Signs for men of understanding.” (Surah Al-‘Imran - verse 190) so this difference is one of God's graces to ensure continuity of life.

Without night and day plant wouldn't be able to grow and life might not be exist

The night covers the day

If we look from outside earth, it is clearly seen that night coves day. Also we can see that earth is surrounded by darkness from all sides.  God says: “He brings the night as a cover over the day seeking it rapidly” (Surah Al-A'raf - verse 54). If we record earth rotation  in a movie and we play it in foreword speed , we will see as if night is trying to catch day but it (night)couldn't precede or to be at the head of it (day) .

The first thing to be noticed by any one looks from outside is the dusky dark that covers everything  

Day is a very thin layer

The day layer is very thin as human skin. God says: “And a Sign for them is the Night: We withdraw there from the Day, and behold they are plunged in darkness” (Surah Ya-Sin - verse 37). Let us look attentively at the following photo which illustrate the sickness of the day layer, this layer covers the luminous side of earth. The height of this layer is no more than 100 kilometer but diameter of earth is about 12500 kilometer, so day layer is less than 1% of diameter of earth.

Look at this very thin layer, who knew at time of Qur'an that day withdraw from earth because of its rotation?

Night and day offer free services

Scientists tell us about some interests of night and day alternation such as: to keep temperature stable to fit life on earth, plants growth … so night and day offer free services. God says: “and He hath made subject to you the sun and the moon, both diligently pursuing their courses: and the Night and the Day hath He (also) made subject to you.” (Surah Ibrahim - verse 33) the word subjected means to do a work without pay (free of charge)

If we look attentively at moon, there is no night and day alternation therefore the dark side of moon is very cold and the luminous side is very hot

Earth moves around itself and around sun in a very organized manner with no defect which may cause disturbance in timing or night and day alternation. God says: “It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit.” (Surah Ya-Sin - verse 40)

Finally, we can say that all verses which describe night and day are compiled with the modern science with no contradiction between Qur'an and science facts. It is an indication that this book (Qur'an) is sincere and miraculous
