We often ask our children: What do you wish to be when you grow up? It is just a question we used to ask but when a child grows up, he forgets the question, forgets the answer, and finds a new reality that entails a different study and working in a field that he does not love.

If we go back to the child, we find that the question is important and useful for it puts his feet on the road for a distant goal but he needs another important thing. We have to ask our children: Why do you wish to become like that? If the answer of this question is not clear to him and he chose that for imitating those whom he loves, then we have to outline the course and explain the reason for him. We should explain that doctors have a mission to fulfill, lawyers have a case to support, teachers have a nation to build, and scientists benefit their nation and help in its advancement.

This should be done with every profession until a child understands well the mission of every profession and its high morals not for fame or money.

A child should not learn that only but he should learn the value of work and the purpose of it to increase his attachment with it, live for it, and take some steps to reach it. In the future, he shall not be confused about which way he should follow, where he should go, which subject he should study, and which work he should search for. His goal shall be clear before his eyes and his mission is also clear in his mind, and when he lives to achieve his goal, it is not easy for him to deviate, fall, or miss the target because he learned from young age what he should do with his life and work.

We have to teach our children these meanings and rear them well to build generations that know their value and the purpose of their existence, and do not be like ashes which the wind moves here and there.
