Why do you throw what you buy?!

When I went to Saudi Arabia for the first time, I noticed that many women in the market have a habit to buy delicious pastries that draw attentions then they eat a piece of them, then they leave the rest on the table and go away.

The delicious foods remain on the table waiting for the waiter to clean the table and put them in the garbage.

This does not apply only to pastries but goes also for other foods such as rice, pizza, and others.

Perhaps, a woman remembers that she does not want to be fat when she eats the first bite. Why do not you remember diet before purchasing?!

I know that it is difficult at this moment to take that food and look for a poor man to give, however it is better not to buy what you are going to throw while there are millions around the world feel hungry.

I was appalled by that program which was displayed on the Saudi television about food wastes in the city of Riyadh alone which amounts 2250 tons every day which is equal to 30% of the total waste of the city.

 This statistic is alarming, and I think it is prohibited to do so and we have to remember Allah's Saying: "But spend not wastefully (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift. * Verily, the spendthrifts are brothers of the Shayâtîn (devils), and the Shaitân (Devil-Satan) is ever ungrateful to his Lord." [Surat Al Isra: 26 - 27].

We should not forget Allah's Saying: "And Allâh puts forward the example of a township (Makkah), that dwelt secure and well-content: its provision coming to it in abundance from every place, but it (its people) denied the Favours of Allâh (with ungratefulness). So Allâh made it taste extreme of hunger (famine) and fear, because of that (evil, i.e. denying Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him) which they (its people) used to do."[Surat An-Nahl: 112].
