Civility and urbanization

In the fifties, the number of population in developed countries was over 155 millions i.e., more than the number of population in developing counties.

In the seventies, the difference has become only 30.000.000 since that date, the developing countries have witnessed migration waves that were not preceded from the rural areas to cities. As a result, the number of population (has increased five or six years).

By the end of the past century, about half a million of world population in an urbanized environment has increased to 9.1 billion persons i.e., double the number of the developed countries. At the same time, the rural population were almost 3.000.000.000 persons who continued their migration to big cities.

Economists and socialists have cared long time ago for perfect size of cities.

Some experts see that the perfect level concerning jobs is 500.000 inhabitants. When the number reaches 2.000.000 inhabitants, the area becomes more difficult regarding the standard of living.

These estimations are on average and it is clear that it is not possible to specify an applicable perfect size for each city in the world. It is better to set a goal which is to achieve reasonable averages of urbanization along with development average for big cities. The crisis of urbanization and its social, technical, and economic problems impede the economic progress in the third world countries.

In short, rural development must be part of national development in the course of close cooperation between local communities and general authorities.

Accordingly, one has to exert efforts to decrease focusing on infrastructure and economic activities and services in cities and capitals to find medium industries and areas to absorb the work power in the country.

We have to learn and train rural people if we want to decrease employment and the huge difference between income levels, as they are from the most important reasons of leaving the country and increasing the populations of cities.
