“Islamic Bookmaking” and “Tools and Instruments in Islamic Civilization” team works are pleased to invite you to an archeological – scientific exhibition and discussion on tools and instruments used in Islamic Bookmaking Craft, Calligraphy and Preservation. Lectures and workshops will take place alongside the exhibition.

The Event will be held at:

Muscat – Oman / Oman International Exhibitions Center - National Authority of Documents and archives.

The Exhibition is the first event by the team works in its first common theme project: “Documenting Islamic bookmaking tools & instruments”.

We hope in the near future to organize more international exhibitions on the topic around the world.

A catalogue-monograph is planned to be published in the future, accompanied by the launch of an web-based repository, documenting tools and instruments, whether it be antiques or illustrated-described at historical manuscripts, documents and paintings.

This is a call for museums, libraries and researchers to join the group in organizing, supporting and funding future events and publications.
