Working women

Dear valued brother, Wa `Alaykumus-Salam war-Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh (peace be upon you).

Thanks to Allah who guided you to find the girl whom you were looking for, and I ask Allah to assemble you both in the goodness of marriage and grant you righteous children.

Dear brother, let it be known that Salat-ul-Istikharah opens the way for you for good choice.

I do not think that work shall stand a hindrance before your marriage, especially if you have intimacy and respect in between and by organizing time. If negligence exists, you have to endure the negligence of each other, and it is better that you help her in some housework, as much as you can, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to do. Hisham ibn `Urwah reported on the authority of his father who said: A man asked `A'ishah: Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) use to do housework? She replied: Yes, the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to repair his shoe, sew his garment, and do housework as you do in your houses. [Reported by Imam Ahmad in his Musnad and `Abdur-Razzaq in Al Musannaf.

We have a good example to follow in the Prophet (peace be upon him).

You have to commend your wife with Hijab and adherence to Islamic manners and noble values before going out for work. This is the duty of every working woman who fears Allah and hopes for Allah's Mercy so as to gain the satisfaction of the Most Merciful in this world and in the next.
