Should a praying person repeats Al Fatihah from the beginning if he makes a mistake?

The Hanbali school of Fiqh states that a person must repeat it from the beginning:

However, the correct opinion is to repeat only the Ayah in which he makes mistake then reads the following Ayahs because the duration is not long.

• It is desirable to recite moderately with a nice voice.

At-Tartil means: Reciting the Qur'an moderately, clarifying the letters, and beautifying the voice.

The proof to that is:

1- Allah's Saying: "And recite the Qur'ân (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style." [Surat Al Muzzammil: 4].

2- The Hadith of Qatadah which reads: "Anas was asked, How was the recitation (of the Qur'an) of the Prophet (peace be upon him)? He replied: It was characterized by the prolongation of certain sounds. He then recited: In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful prolonging the pronunciation of 'In the Name of Allah, 'the most Beneficent,' and 'the Most Merciful.'" [Reported by Al Bukhari].

3- The Hadith of Abu Hurayrah: "Allah does not listen to anything as He listens to the recitation of the Qur'an by a Prophet who recites it in attractive audible sweet sounding voice." [Reported by Al Bukhari and Muslim].

4- The Hadith of Al Bara': "Beautify the Qur'an with your Voices." [Reported by Imam Ahmad, Abu Dawud, An-Nasa'y; and Ibn Hajar ranked it as authentic].

• As-Safariny said in Ghidha' Al Albab: Scholars are in agreement on the desirability of improving voices when reciting the Qur'an as long as they keep to the proper rules of recitation.

• Shaykh-ul-Islam said in Al Ikhtiyarat (p. 52):

A reciter's stoppage at the each Ayah is a Sunnah even if the second Ayah is connected with the first such as an adjective and a noun or something else. Little reciting with pondering over is better than much recitation without pondering over which was reported from the Companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with them) outspokenly.

• Ibn Qudamah said in Al Mughny 12 /48: If a reciter does much prolonging, and gives diacritics more than their due rights such as turning Dammah into Waw, Fathah to Alif, and Kasrah into Ya, it will be reprehensible, whereas some scholars prohibit it.
