Mu`adh ibn Jabal His heart was soft, and as soon as the words of Mus`ab ibn `Umayr touched his heart, he embraced Islam in young age, so he added power to Islam. He was one of those who pledged the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the second pledge of `Aqabah.  He was open minded, had a strong argument, with smiling face, and eloquent. He was characterized by knowledge and understanding religion, so the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "And the most knowledgeable of them concerning the lawful and the unlawful is Mu`adh ibn Jabal."

- When the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) talked while Mu`adh was sitting with them, they would look at him in reverence because of his open mind and eloquence.

- The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) trusted his forbearance, so he sent him to Yemen to call the people there to Allah so he was the best ambassador and the most wise caller called to the way of Allah with wisdom and good preaching.

- `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) appointed him on the Levant (the region covering Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine) after the death of Abu `Ubaydah ibn Al Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him), so he was a caller full of enthusiasm and loving for religion. He used to move between the masjids of Damascus and Hims as a moon moves among clouds and the people would sit with him for the sake of his ample knowledge mixed with the Prophetic touches.

When he was in death agony, he used to repeat these words:

Welcome death, welcome a visitor which came after a long absence and a beloved one which came after a long yearning.

- Thus, Mu`adh ibn Jabal left finger prints of certainty in people's hearts and on the pulpits of masjids due to his knowledge. He kept on calling to Allah until he passed away in the Levant while he was a young man who did not exceed the age of 33.

May Allah be pleased with him and reward him the best for Islam and Muslims.
