The Prophecy of the Prophet Muhammad

(peace be upon him) Like eaters wrapping around their dish

Over the span of decades, globalization hasn't unified anything; rather, it has given dual utility to both good and evil, often leading individuals to indulge in desires to an extent where they end up gravitating towards evil. Gradually, a familiarity developed between humans and evil, with a high degree of acceptance due to repetition and prevalence, making the use of things for evil seem so normal that it doesn't even prick the conscience anymore. Generations have emerged fragmented, lacking guidance towards good and surrounded by temptation on all sides, preoccupied only with the desires of their bodies and engulfed in trials, leaving their souls in continuous darkness.

Champions of globalization and its promotion are keen on shaping identity in a distorted or semi-distorted manner. For an individual to acquire a clear identity that naturally inclines them towards goodness for a righteous end, they must have the opportunity to acquire it in a pure and organized environment. However, how can this happen amidst the mixed bag of intentions aiming to disperse generations, isolating the human spirit and only catering to their desires? Even motivations for an individual's food, drink, and medication are influenced by these factors.

The information revolution, touted by globalization enthusiasts as the means to make the world a global village, brings with it avenues of public disservice. The overflow of information has exceeded the capacity of an average person to comprehend, resulting in information overload where facts compete with each other, often leading to forgetfulness. People derive pleasure from watching, listening, or reading, but what remains stored and possibly recalled in the future is fragmented thoughts that cannot be pieced together or relied upon.

Even scientific research can be manipulated under globalization by those controlling its dissemination. Those with financial means lavish funds on specific researchers and scientific societies that serve the interests of globalization sponsors, both ideologically and economically.

The Islamic nation lives in this age of globalization amidst waves of trials, lurking dangers, conspiracies, and encirclement aimed at weakening it. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) described this reality vividly, as narrated by Thawban, a freed slave of the Prophet, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, the nations will gather against you as the predators gather around their prey. Someone asked, 'Is it because we will be small in number that day?' He said: 'No, you will be numerous, but you will be like the foam of the sea, and Allah will remove the fear of you from the hearts of your enemies and will cast weakness into your hearts.' Someone asked, 'What is weakness?' He said, 'Love of the world and the dislike of death.'" (Al-Silsilah al-Saheehah: 958).

The solution to heal the wounds of the nation after this fragmentation, and to strengthen it after this weakness, is what the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) guided us to in his Farewell Sermon. Abdullah bin Abbas reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, Satan has despaired of being worshipped in your land, but he is pleased to be obeyed in matters other than that which you consider insignificant among your deeds. So beware, indeed I have left among you that which if you adhere to, you will never go astray, the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet." (Sahih al-Targheeb: 40), as translated by Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, who said: "The latter part of this Ummah will not be set right except by that which set right its first part."

The strength of the nation, as a diverse society comprised of families and individuals, lies only in adhering to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace be upon him). Anything else leads to destruction. Surprisingly, despite the availability of this secure source amidst waves of trials, desires, doubts, and conspiracies, people are turning away from it.

Clutching to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace be upon him) isn't merely through words or superficial attachment. Rather, we must embrace them practically, drawing from them guidance for every situation we encounter, aiming for utmost submission and surrender, even in the minutest of matters and legislations. Our goal in this should be achieving absolute servitude to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.

Only through this can salvation be achieved, only through this can strength be attained, only through this can we navigate through the waves of trials and the engineering of deviation that is underway at full throttle. Only through this can the nation emerge from darkness into light, only through this can we raise a generation capable of walking towards Allah, only through this can we safeguard for ourselves and our children a place far from the fires of this world and the Hereafter.
