Wine is the source of all evils

Praise be to Allah who bestowed the blessings of reason and insight to His Servants and granted them reasons to seek goodness and save themselves of fire. I praise Him and seek His Forgiveness against every sin. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone who has no partner and I bear witness that Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger. May Allah send peace and blessings upon his family and Companions.

O servants of Allah, the weapon of man in this world is his sound mind, sound health, money to suffice him, dignity and honor. Reason is the dearest of all because by reason, man benefits from his money, health, and honor, and without it a person does not benefit from them or does not feel any benefit.

The religion guards its followers and is keen to make them happy. So, it forbade for them what may harm them in this world and in the Hereafter. It forbade for them what harms their minds and bodies and what spoils their monies and honor, but Satan tempts people with forbidden things, and a person yearns for the far even if it contains his destruction in the world and the torment in the Hereafter.

Allah forbade wine drinking because it ruins minds, wastes money, destructs bodies, cause the loss of dignity of man and the deterioration of his manners. Wine addict shall be crazy, poor, and weak.

How many useful people whom were spoiled by wine and were sent to psychiatric hospitals?! How many houses were ruined and displaced because their hosts were wine addict and paid attention to it and neglected their families while they are in dire need to them?! How many powerful men whom were ruined by wine and have become sick?! How many virtuous people who have become bad-mannered and did not feel shy to utter the worst words?!

Dear servants of Allah, Islam forbade alcohol to prevent hatred and fighting because a drunk insults, curses, hurts, hits, and assaults the chastity of women by having sexual intercourse with them, and if necessary he loots, steals, and kills the soul which Allah has forbidden, as it also leads to crimes, calamities, conflicts, hostility, and the cut of relationships which is forbidden.

Dear servants of Allah, Allah forbade alcohol because it causes a person to forget the mention of Allah and how come a person who forgets himself, his children, and family would mention Allah?! Allah forbade alcohol because it prevents a person from offering Salah which is the main pillar of religion and the sign of faith. Allah, the Almighty, says: "O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), and gambling, and Al-Ansâb, and Al-Azlâm (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an abomination of Shaitân's (Satan) handiwork. So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order that you may be successful . * Shaitân (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allâh and from As-Salât (the prayer). So, will you not then abstain?[1]

When a person is drunk, he does not pay attention to his sayings and actions and does not pay attention to fornication or honor; a drunk does not pay attention to abdominal actions and does not feel shy to violate honors.

Some people say: Wine makes worry and grief go away.

Escaping worries and concerns is not a solution but the only solution is to solve the causes of these problems, and wine increases concerns and problems.

They say: it brings about joy and happiness.

They missed to say that it is a fake joy and a false happiness that is followed by sorrow and collapse, recession and humiliation, worry and concern for a long time.

They say: It strengthens the body and benefits the health.

They missed to say that wine drinking causes yellowness in the face, vomiting and laziness, and also missed to say that medicine has proven that alcohol causes inflammation of the liver and kidneys, paralysis, epilepsy, insanity, and the weakness of offspring.

And, above all: A threat was given to wine drinkers as the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: `Abdullah Ibn `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "If anyone drinks wine, his Salah shall not be accepted for forty days. However, if he repents, Allah will accept his repentance. Then if he reverts (to it), Allah will not accept his Salah for forty days, but if he repents, Allah shall accept his repentance.  Then if he reverts (to it), Allah will not accept his Salah for forty days, but if he repents, Allah shall accept his repentance. However, if he reverts for the fourth time, Allah shall not accept his Salah for forty days, and when he repents, Allah does not accept his repentance and He will give him to drink from the River of Khabal." Someone asked: "O Abu `Abdur-Rahman! What is the River of Khabal?’ He said: "The pus of the dwellers of the people of fire." [2]

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Allah has cursed wine, its drinker, its server, its seller, its buyer, its presser, the one for whom it is pressed, the one who conveys it, and the one to whom it is conveyed . " [3]

Allah says: "They ask you (O Muhammad peace be upon him) concerning alcoholic drink and gambling. Say: "In them is a great sin, and (some) benefits for men, but the sin of them is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they ought to spend. Say: "That which is beyond your needs." Thus Allâh makes clear to you His Laws in order that you may give thought ."" [Surat Al Baqarah: 219].
