In the shade of Allah's Saying: "And now if he refuses to obey my order, he shall certainly be cast into prison."

In the shade of Allah's Saying: "And now if he refuses to obey my order, he shall certainly be cast into prison." [Surat Yusuf: 32].

I have read a piece of news published about a wife who was afflicted by the death of her husband who was pious, as we believe, and died in prison. She also was afflicted with the imprisonment of her son who took the place of his father. She was complaining to Allah of the oppression and aggression of his guards.

I was reading Surat Yusuf which narrated a story similar to the story of that woman, and while I was reading, I came across an Ayah which reads: "And now if he refuses to obey my order, he shall certainly be cast into prison, and will be one of those who are disgraced." [Surat Yusuf: 32] which was part of a dialogue written in the Qur'an.

I have thought in the meanings of this Ayah and its words and found that it included some implications and meanings, of which:

1- The ongoing conflict between the truth and falsehood is a universal law for which Allah (Glory be to Him) chooses His beloved servants. Look at the parties of the conflict which ranged between the lust of a woman who was known, even to her husband, as a liar and a righteous prophet.

2- Prison is a method that may be owned by any tyrant to attack his opponents violently and imprison them, but signs show that he is not able to lock the heart of his opponents, and if he succeeds to lock their bodies, he will never be able to enslave or bring humiliation to them.

Listen to the saying of the wife of `Aziz when she said: "He shall certainly be cast into prison." [Surat Yusuf: 32].

Then listen to her saying: "And will be one of those who are disgraced." [Surat Yusuf: 32].

You shall find that she speaks about prison by the logic of force which she owns, therefore she confirmed that and perhaps she succeeded because Joseph (peace be upon him) was already imprisoned. And ponder over her speech about humiliation, you will find it ordinary without any confirmation because none is able to cast humiliation on others except Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted).

3- The final destination is always for the pious prostrating worshippers. The owner of the truth ranges between the pleasure of Allah and observing patience for his afflictions because his heart is always connected by heaven. "I only complain of my grief and sorrow to Allâh, and I know from Allâh that which you know not." [Surat Yusuf: 86].

Moreover, he knows that Allah has chosen him for a good reason.

By Allah, even if the afflicted is not in power, it is enough for him to be included in this Ayah: "Or think you that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty and ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, "When (will come) the Help of Allâh?" Yes! Certainly, the Help of Allâh is near!" [Surat Al Baqarah: 214].

May Allah grant you patience on afflictions, make you firm, guide you, and accept actions from you.

Allah said: "And Allâh loves As-Sâbirûn (the patient). * And they said nothing but: "Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and our transgressions (in keeping our duties to You), establish our feet firmly, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk."" [Surat Al `Imran: 146 - 147].

I conclude with the following Ayah: "And We made from among them (Children of Israel), leaders, giving guidance under Our Command, when they were patient and used to believe with certainty in Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)" [Surat As-Sajdah: 24].

Ponder over Allah's Saying: under Our Command.
