Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says about the event of Emigration [The event in which the Messenger of Allah migrated from Makkah to Medina to escape the torture of the infidels and to spread the religion of Allah in Medina]: "If you help him (Muhammad peace be upon him) not (it does not matter), for Allâh did indeed help him when the disbelievers drove him out, the second of the two; when they (Muhammad peace be upon him and Abu Bakr may Allah be pleased with him) were in the cave, he (peace be upon him) said to his companion (Abu Bakr may Allah be pleased with him): "Be not sad (or afraid), surely Allâh is with us." Then Allâh sent down His Sakînah (calmness, tranquillity, peace) upon him, and strengthened him with forces (angels) which you saw not, and made the word of those who disbelieved the lowermost, while the Word of Allâh that became the uppermost; and Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Wise." [Surat At-Tawbah: 40].

Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) says: "And (remember) when the disbelievers plotted against you (O Muhammad peace be upon him) to imprison you, or to kill you, or to get you out (from your home, i.e. Makkah); they were plotting and Allâh too was plotting; and Allâh is the Best of those who plot." [Surat Al Anfal: 30].

The emigration of the Messenger of Allah
(peace be upon him) from Makkah to Medina, from polytheism to faith, from fearing and terror to security and safety indicates the true and perfect faith and full certainty in the mercy of Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) to the believers and to show His Victory to them in the time of hardship.

It also denotes glory, dignity, and pride to seek the life of freedom for oneself, the Muslim group, and to the Muslim society.

It may be obligatory if man loses freedom in his country, especially the freedom of creed. Allah (Glory be to Him) says in His Book: "Verily, as for those whom the angels take (in death) while they are wronging themselves (as they stayed among the disbelievers even though emigration was obligatory for them), they (angels) say (to them): "In what (condition) were you?" They reply: "We were weak and oppressed on the earth." They (angels) say: "Was not the earth of Allâh spacious enough for you to emigrate therein?" Such men will find their abode in Hell - What an evil destination!" [Surat An-Nisa': 97].

The Messenger of Allah
(peace be upon him) spent in Makkah thirteen years calling the people to the religion of Allah, whereas Quraysh was still living in its error and straying, exaggerating in its enmity to Islam, plotting against Islam, the Messenger, and Muslims in Makkah.

Enmity reached its peak against the Messenger of Allah
(peace be upon him) when the Makkan set a plot to assassinate the Prophet, but he knew about assassination, then he planned well to emigration and depended on secrecy so as Quraysh would not discover his plan.

Therefore, he did not show his plan to anyone except his trustworthy friend Abu Bakr As-Siddiq
(may Allah be pleased with him) and Ali ibn Abu Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) whom the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) appointed to do a mission which was to spend the night in the bed of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in the night of the plot to delude the enemy and make them think that he was still sleeping in his bed, where he left his home and was on his way to Medina.

Some old people, youth, and girls took part in emigration and each one of them had a role to play carefully and precisely including concealing the matter.

By this precise planning and after the support of Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted), emigration succeeded, the truth gained victory, and falsehood and its party were defeated. Allah has said the truth when He said: "Those who oppose Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad peace be upon him), they will be among the lowest (most humiliated). * Allâh has decreed: "Verily, it is I and My Messengers who shall be the victorious." Verily, Allâh is All-Powerful, All-Mighty." [Surat Al Mujadalah: 20 - 21].

Indeed, Allah says: "They (the disbelievers, the Jews and the Christians) want to extinguish Allâh's Light (with which Muhammad peace be upon him has been sent - Islâmic Monotheism) with their mouths, but Allâh will not allow except that His Light should be perfected even though the Kâfirûn (disbelievers) hate (it)." [Surat At-Tawbah: 32].

Emigration was the eternal symbol that the message of the sky to the earth is always surrounded by the care, victory, and success of Allah, and that the religion of monotheism is the one which is always victorious; falsehood cannot beat it, no traitor can betray it; and no one can block its way by tyranny, lie, or aggression.

Emigration showed the way of Islam regarding the social justice when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) established the bond of brotherhood between Al Muhajirin (emigrants) and Al Ansar (the Helpers) which was honorable and unique of its kind in the life of humanity.

Emigration taught people that Islam is the religion of life and the greatest divine message to earth, hence its message was eternal.

It is valid for every time and place, and that the glory of Muslims will not be achieved except by Islam and does not end except to it, and always does not depend except on it.

Emigration taught the people that Islam is the religion of civilization, which emerged from it and based on it, as it overshadowed the entire world for centuries because it was a human civilization full of role models, great goals, and important values that aim to the goodness of humanity, security, and comfort, and aims to achieve safety, welfare, real freedom, and comprehensive justice.

Emigration is an eternal memory that will live until the establishment of the Hour, as it is the memory of the victory to Allah to His Messenger and to the believers.
