There are people from the claimers of fasting who like to make Ramadan a rack on which they hung their errors, unpleasant practices, their bad manners, and cruel treatment to others. You see them like a time bomb and they gather in their chest malice and anger. When someone speaks to them, they answer back with malice and hatred, justifying their bad actions with fasting or Ramadan.

Who told you that Ramadan is the month of bad manners, tight chest, and the release of the tongue with every bad word?

If you use bad manners justifying your action with fasting, do you think people will accept that? Or would Allah be satisfied with you? Or your devil decorated your bad actions and turning people away from the way then went too far in your seduction when he made you justify your actions with Ramadan or fasting?

Our Lord (Glory be to Him) says: "O you who believe! Observing As-Saum (the fast) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqûn (the pious)" while you understand it: So that you may do wrong.

Our Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Fasting is a screen (from Hell) So, the person observing fasting should avoid sexual relation with his wife and should not behave foolishly and impudently, and if somebody fights with him or abuses him, he should tell him twice, 'I am fasting'" while you understand fasting as a permission to insult and cursing, a cause for bad manners and tight chest, and an argument to hold your tongue against foul language!

Where are you from the guidance of the Prophet (peace be upon him) when he said: "How many fasting people do not benefit anything of his fasting but hunger and thirst. And how many people observe the voluntary night Salah but does not benefit except fatigue." Moreover, where are you from the Prophet's saying: "Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink (i.e. Allah will not accept his fasting)."

Dear Muslim brother, fasting is a school in which a fasting person learns how to follow the manners of the righteous and raise his degrees among pathfinders to purify himself, expand his chest, beautify his words, and forsake everything that may disturb his fasting such as bad manners and corrupted actions.

If bad manners and foul language are dispraised all year long, they are more dispraised in Ramadan where devils are chained, evil is reduced, and goodness prevails.

By Allah, those who allow themselves to spread corruption, curse, slander, and bad manners in a time where devils are chained are far away from goodness and are nearer to evil in other times.

It came in the words of Luqman to his son: If your keeper is trustworthy and your safe is locked, you shall be guided in both the world and the Hereafter (i.e. The heart and the tongue).

When someone claims that his chest is naturally impatient, quick-tempered, and bad-mannered, he should know that fasting should cultivate his temper and behave his manners because if he does not do so, his fasting shall be lost and his obedience shall be corrupted.

No doubt, a person cannot have good manners without suppressing anger, becoming patient, becoming forbearing and knowledgeable. The Messenger of Allah guided us to this way by his saying: "Knowledge is obtained by learning, forbearing is obtained by observing forbearing, whoever pursuits goodness shall have it, and whoever pursuits evil shall have it."

I ask Allah (Glory be to Him) to grant us the manners of the truthful fasting people, to make us avoid every disgrace, and make us from those who listen to words and follow its best; and praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
