One of my dear friends told me that despite how much she tries to practice the Islamic knowledge that she learns, when she faces a trial she often fails the test .

Therefore, she decided to study the Quran as it is known for its deep influence on the heart and soul .

We all have been through the same thing, where we find that Quran has more effects on our personality and behavior than Islamic Studies, but I never understood why until my friend said these words .

At that moment only I understood the reason.

So I asked her: do you know why we fail these trials ?

Islamic study is a knowledge that was revealed by Allah and worded by humans so it feels like scientific facts that enters our minds but does not enter our hearts.

Then I asked her: Have you thought about the differences between the influence of The Islamic Study and the influence of The Quran on us?

Have you thought about the differences between the effect of Islamic Study and the effect of The Quran on our hearts and souls ?

The reason is that studying Quran and reflecting on it is associated  with the remembrance of Allah, so the more you read the Quran, and reflect on it, the more you remember Allah by his words, the more you get closer to him, and the more it influences you deep in your heart .

As for Islamic Study, although it's revealed from Allah, it was worded in human's words, so it feels like some kind of scientific knowledge that would not affect your heart until you put it into practice (worship). Whereas The Quran (The words of Allah) it's enough to just hear it for it to touch your heart .

So for the Islamic knowledge to have any impact on us, it must be associated with worship .

Ex: Studying monotheism is the most important thing that every Muslim MUST knows, every Muslim should understand it, and believes in it, but is that enough ?

No, it is not enough, this knowledge has to be associated with practice, and needs to be renewed in our hearts every day and that's why the prophet peace be upon him taught us to say every day in the morning and evening supplication (None has the right to be worshiped except Allah, without a partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, He is over all things omnipotent) 100 times .

So here the prophet peace be upon him have associated the knowledge of monotheism with believing in it, and practicing it (repeating it every day as a reminder).
