61- He said to them: O people, I am not straying but I am a sent Messenger to you from your Lord and the Lord of all mankind.

62- I inform you of the commands which Allah ordered me to convey to you and I am an honest adviser to you and I search for the best for you. Furthermore, I exhort you to accept His Commands and warn you against His Prohibitions so as not to be inflicted by His Punishment. I know things that you do not know, so fear your Lord, listen to my advice, and do not be of the haughty disbelievers.

63- Why do you wonder about the coming of an admonition from your Lord that was revealed to a man from you to warn you of torment and destruction if you disobey? That is to avoid His Punishment and to bestow mercy upon you if you believe and fear Him.

64- However, they became haughty and refused to obey their Messenger, moreover they insisted on their disbelief despite the long period during which the Prophet called them to Islam. As a result, we rescued him along with those who believed in the ship from the formidable flood, and we sank all those who belied them because they were blind to see the truth and were not guided to it.

65- We sent to the tribe of `Ad their brother Hud when they were at Al Ahqaf (an area between Oman, Ar-Rab` Al Khaly, and Yemen) and their traces are still found in Oman. Their Prophet told them: O people, worship Allah alone and do not associate partners with him in worship; are not you afraid to be inflicted by a punishment from Him?

66- The disbelieving leaders of his people who were the most denying and stubborn said: O Hud, we see you in foolishness and ignorance, where you leave the religion of your fathers and call to another religion which we do not know, and we believe that you lie by claiming that you are a messenger with a message.

67- Hud (peace be upon him) said to them: O people, I am not in foolishness and ignorance as you claim, but I was sent to you from the Lord of the worlds, and His Messengers are described by guidance, truthfulness, honesty, advice, explanation and eloquence.

68- I inform you of that which Allah commands me to inform you and I advise you sincerely and honestly. I do not attribute lies to Allah nor to you, so why do you accuse me of ignorance?

69- Why do you wonder at the coming of the Messenger (peace be upon him) with a message from your Lord to warn you of the punishment of Allah if you disobey and insist on disbelief and disobedience? Remember the favors of Allah upon you and be grateful for He made you successors and kings after the people of Noah whom Allah destroyed after their belying to the Prophet (peace be upon him), so do not be like them. Thank Him for He favored you to people by tallness and power, so remember His Favors on you and always be of the grateful in order to be of the winners.

70- They said in a challenge and stubbornness: Were you sent to us by your Lord to worship Him alone and leave out the idols which our fathers and forefathers used to worship? If you are truthful in your speech, bring us the punishment you promised.
