Praise be to Allah. We praise Him, seek His Help, and seek His Forgiveness. We seek refuge in Him from the evils of ourselves and from our evil deeds. Whom Allah guides no one can mislead him and whoever has been misled no one can guide him. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone who has no partner. He forbade everything that distracts people, busy them to keep away from His Obedience, and everything that was a reason for committing what He prohibited. I bear witness that Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger, and peace be upon him, his family and Companions.

O servants of Allah, fear Allah (may He be Exalted), and put a guard between you and His Wrath by obeying Him. Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says: "O you who believe! Fear Allâh (by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared. [Obey Him, be thankful to Him, and remember Him always], and die not except in a state of Islâm [as Muslims (with complete submission to Allâh)]."  [1]

O Muslims,   Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) prohibited singing using unlawful instruments because it is one of the plots of Satan which he sets to pick up people of less knowledge, work, reason, and religion. Some people listen to the prohibited singing and music which is not suitable for a reasonable Muslim, but it is one of the lewd's actions. Moreover, the prohibited singing is prohibited by the book of Allah, the Sunnah, and the consensus of scholars.

Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) said to Satan: "(Allâh) said: "Go, and whosoever of them follows you, surely Hell will be the recompense of you (all) ? an ample recompense. *And befool them gradually those whom you can among them with your voice (i.e. songs, music, and any other call for Allâh's disobedience), make assaults on them with your cavalry and your infantry, share with them wealth and children (by tempting them to earn money by illegal ways - usury, or by committing illegal sexual intercourse), and make promises to them." But Satan promises them nothing but deceit." [2]

Mujahid said in the commentary on "Your voice " here is: with amusement and singing which means belittled them.[3]

which is one of the plots of Satan.

Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says: "And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allâh without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allâh or the Verses of the Qur'ân) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire). *And when Our Verses (of the Qur'ân) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not - as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment." [4]

`Abdullah ibn Mas`ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah [Thrice], it is singing. Ibn `Abbas, Jabir, and Mujahid (may Allah be pleased with them all) followed Ibn Mas`ud in his commentary [5].

Imam Ibn Jarir (may Allah bestow mercy on his soul) said:

"He meant: Every speech that distracts people from the way of Allah such as the things which Allah prohibited to listen or the things which the Messenger of Allah prohibited because Allah (may He be Exalted) spoke in general about "idle talks" and did not single out some speech over another, so the matter is general until something specifies it, singing and disbelief are part of that.[6]

Allah (He may be Glorified) says: "Do you then wonder at this recitation (the Qur'ân)? *And you laugh at it and weep not, *wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.)." [7]

Ibn `Abbas said the meaning of As-Samud means: Singing. Likewise `Ikrimah said. It is said: "Ismidy Lana" which means: Sing for us which is a Yemenite language [8]

The meaning if As-Samad also means: Heedlessness and distraction from everything, so, singing is included.

Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says: "Their Salât (prayer) at the House (of Allâh, i.e. the Ka'bah at Makkah) was nothing but whistling and clapping of hands. Therefore taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve." [9] i.e., Whistling and clapping.[10]

`Abdur-Rahman ibn Ghunm reported that Abu Malik AlAsh`ary Allah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah, he did not tell lies to me.  He heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying: "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse,  the wearing of silk,  the drinking of alcoholic drinks,  and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. [11]

Shabib ibn Bish Al Bujalynarrated I heard Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Two voices are cursed in the world and the Hereafter: a musical instrument upon having a favor and a voice at a disaster." [12]

`Abdullah ibn `Amr narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:Indeed, Allah prohibited alcohol, gamble, Mizr[13] , Al Kubah, Al Ghubayra'[14] , and in addition, he gave me the Witr Salah."[15]  Al Kubah is a small drum. [16]  Abu Malik Al Ash`ary (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Some of my people will assuredly drink wine  calling it by another name. and musical instruments will be played for them and singing girls (will sing for them). Allah will cause the earth to swallow them up,and will turn them into monkeys and pigs."[17]

The Companions, the Followers, imams, and scholars warned the people against singing:   Ibn Mas`ud said: Singing grows hypocrisy in the heart as water grows vegetables. in another narration, plants.[18]

Imam Malik said: This act is done by lewdpeople.[19]

Imam Ahmad said: singing grows hypocrisy in the heart, and I do not like it.

[20]`Umar ibn `Abdul-`Aziz said about amusements: They begin with Satan and end with the wrath of the Compassionate.[21]

O Servants of Allah, fear Allah, keep away from the prohibited singing and musical instruments to win the obedience of your Lord and to fix the world and the Hereafter.   I seek refuge in Allah against the cursed Satan. "And whosoever fears Allâh and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). *And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine." [22]

May Allah bless you and bless the Qur'an and the Sunnah, and may Allah benefit you and me from knowledge and wisdom.

These are my words, and I ask for Allah's forgiveness for you, me, and to all Muslims, so, seek His Forgiveness of every sin, for He is the Most Merciful, the Oft-Forgiving.

The Second Sermon

Praise be to Allah for His Benevolence and thanks are due to Him for His Guidance and Favors. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone who has no partner. I bear witness that Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger who calls to His Pleasure. May Allah send peace and blessings on his family, his Companions, and his Followers righteously until the Day of Recompense.

O servants of Allah, fear Allah and know that many people live these days on songs, prohibited amusements, low-taste series, and music which keeps the heart away from Allah. These prohibited matters are broadcast through mass media: The read, the audio, and video, recorded materials, or the Internet. So, they wasted their times in amusements, lost their children and wives, and corrupted them with these songs and amusements. We seek refuge in Allah against failure and we ask Him forgiveness, pardon, and good health in this world and in the Hereafter. O servants of Allah, send peace and blessings on the best of creation, our Prophet Muhammad ibn `Abdullah as Allah commanded you to do, where He says: "Allâh sends His Salât (Graces, Honours, Blessings, Mercy) on the Prophet (Muhammad peace be upon him), and also His angels (ask Allâh to bless and forgive him). O you who believe! Send your Salât on (ask Allâh to bless) him (Muhammad peace be upon him), and (you should) greet (salute) him with the Islâmic way of greeting (salutation i.e. As-Salâmu 'Alaikum)."[23] The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever prays one time on me Allah shall send ten blessings upon him." [24] O Allah, send peace and blessings upon the Prophet, and be pleased with his Companions: Abu Bakr, `Umar, `Uthman, `Ali, and all his Companions. O Allah, include us in Your Mercy, O the best of the Merciful. O Allah, make Islam and Muslims glorious, and humiliate polythism and polytheists. O Allah, make us secure in our homelands, reform our imams and rulers. O Allah, forgive Muslim men and women, believing men and women, those who are alive or dead. O Allah, forgive the Muslim dead, protect them from the torment of the grave and Hell by Your Mercy, O the best of the Merciful. O Allah, we ask You guidance, piety, chastity, and richness. O Allah, guide us and make us right. "And of them there are some who say: Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!"[25] O servants of Allah, "Verily, Allâh enjoins Al-'Adl (i.e. justice and worshipping none but Allâh Alone ? Islâmic Monotheism) and Al-Ihsân [i.e. to be patient in performing your duties to Allâh, totally for Allâh's sake and in accordance with the Sunnah (legal ways) of the Prophet peace be upon him in a perfect manner], and giving (help) to kith and kin (i.e. all that Allâh has ordered you to give them e.g., wealth, visiting, looking after them, or any other kind of help), and forbids Al-Fahshâ' (i.e. all evil deeds, e.g. illegal sexual acts, disobedience of parents, polytheism, to tell lies, to give false witness, to kill a life without right), and Al-Munkar (i.e. all that is prohibited by Islâmic law: polytheism of every kind, disbelief and every kind of evil deeds), and Al-Baghy (i.e. all kinds of oppression). He admonishes you, that you may take heed." So, mention Allah, the great to mention you, and thank Him for His Favors to increase them. "And the remembering (praising) of (you by) Allâh (in front of the angels) is greater indeed [than your remembering (praising) of Allâh in prayers]."[26]
