Despite the blind oppression against Muslims around the world, and the ongoing attempts to tarnish the image of Islam by accusation of violence, numbers of Muslims are increasing.

According to the recent global research conducted by Pew Research Center, report projecting the future of religious groups, Islam will grow faster than any other major world religion during the next four decades till 2050, and the unaffiliated will shrink as a share of the global population.

To be specific, in 2010, Muslims made up 23.2% of the global population (1.6 billion). This number of Muslims is expected to increase by 73% to be 2.8 billion in 2050, while the world’s population is projected to grow 35% in the coming decades as a result of the research.

Furthermore, the research found  that Christians In the United States will decline from more than three-quarters of the population in 2010 to two-thirds in 2050, and Judaism will no longer be the largest non-Christian religion. Muslims will be more numerous in the U.S. than people who identify themselves as Jewish on the basis of religion.

So Muslims around the world, especially those who face the oppression, should be filled with optimism and hope because of these findings.

Moreover, we should all remember that the oppression against Muslims is not recent, but Muslims used to be oppressed more than 1000 years ago since the last messenger and our teacher Muhammad “pbuh” received his first revelation from Allah by the angel Gabreil “pbuh”.

It is not easy to convince people in that society, where the idolatry was strongly prevalent, to worship the unique god and to stop idol worship.

Therefore, when Muhammad “pbuh” began to proclaim his message, the majority of Makkah’s people stood against him and fought him, refusing to believe in him.

They not only rejected him, but also attacked him, accused him with madness, and dismissed him from his homeland, Makkah .

Despite the numerous obstacles which the prophet Muhammad and his few followers encountered at the beginning of Islam, he insisted on overcoming all of them, and the people entered Allah’s religion in crowds; then the Muslims kept increasing till now and they will continue to increase till the Day Of Judgment; Islam is protected by Allah, so we should be quiet and relax.
