Islamophobia Rising in France

Manuel Valls who was attending an Iftar (fast-breaking) dinner at Ozoir-la-Ferrière Mosque in I Île- de- France region, said violence against Muslims and anti-Islamic actions have considerably increased in France .

He was invited to the Iftar ceremony by the region’s Muslims, saphirnews reported .

Manuel Valls deliberately refused to use the word Islamophobia and instead talked about anti-Islamic actions .

He condemned these actions and stressed the French government’s support for Muslims .

Valls, however, defended the ban on Hijab for Muslim women and said the ban should be implemented in the country .

France is home to the largest Muslim minority among Western European countries .
