Jamaat-e-Islami Hind to build Houses for Muzaffarnagar Riot Victims

New Delhi - Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has decided to build 200 houses for Muzaffarnagar riots victims.

A delegation led by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Secretary General Nusrat Ali has visited Muzaffarnagar’s relief camps, Loi, Budhana, Shahpur and Basi Kalan and assessed the relief and rehabilitation works and decided to build 200 houses for riot victims.

The Jamaat’s relief committee has completed detail survey of all riots victims. According to report, total 113 persons were killed and 30 others are missing in the communal riots in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining districts. In 113 killings, 97 are Muslims and 16 are Hindus.

Mr. Shafi Madani Jamaat’s all India Secretary, Mr. T. Arif Ali Kerala Jamaat President, Maulvi Mamoni from Kerala, Maulana Inamullah Islahi UP (West) President, Mr. Rafiq Ahmad secretary Human Welfare Foundation, Delhi, and Mr. Aalauddin, in-charge of the Jamaat’s relief committee, Aale Nabi state advisory board member  and  Anwarulhaq, Jamaat Media Dept. Delhi,  were part of the delegation.

The delegation met with the victims, living in relief camps and listened their problems and sufferings. It also met with relief camps in-charges and assured them for providing all basic needs for affected persons. Mr. Nusrat Ali while talking with the victims also assured them for establishing temporary schools in the relief camps for the students who are facing drop out like situation due to displacement.

Jamaat is erecting one thousand water-proof tents which will save camps residents from cold and rain. It also provided two thousands beds and quilts (Lihaf).

A Medical camp was set up in Loi relief camp, comprising of doctors of Muslim Education Society Medical College, and volunteers of Ideal Relief Wing Kerala. The medical camp is giving free services, medicines and treatment for riot victims. A Mobile Medical van is also giving 24 hour free services for all the relief camps.

Mr. Nusrat Ali while addressing a press conference held at Budhana near Loi camp, demanded the government to take quick step for rehabilitating riots victims and ensure their returning safely back to their original homes. He said that government should give adequate and maximum compensations for all the loss which victims suffered. He also emphasized for good mutual relations among deferent communities. “It is the responsibility of the government as well as peaceful people to minimize the widening gap between Muslims and Jats for creating good atmosphere, and religious leaders of both the communities should come out to uphold good mutual relations,” he added.
