Chinese Muslims to hold Dakwah Programme

POH: The Ipoh Chinese Muslim Association is holding the Dakwah Street programme at Gerbang Malam on Saturday.

The programme includes congregational prayers and talks by celebrities.

ICMA deputy chairman Hafiz Ng Abdullah said the programme was aimed at fostering closer ties between Muslims and non-Muslims.

He said participants would perform congregational prayers while dressed in traditional Chinese costumes.

"It will foster the spirit of togetherness and understanding among all religions," he said.

Lecturers such as Huri Alias, Ghazali Ibrahim, Shauqi Othman, comedian Wahid Senario and TV9 celebrities will be making appearances.

"I hope people will make time to come for the programme," Hafiz added.

Dakwah Street is being organised with the state government and non-governmental organisations such as Ikram, Belia Masjid and the Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association. By Nazirul Hisham
