Mosque collapses in Birmingham

Emergency services have been working through the night after a mosque collapsed just before midnight in Birmingham.

Specialist dog units were brought in from Leicestershire to scour the scene on Walfrod Road in Sparkbrook, but nobody appears to have been injured.

The road remains closed as firefighters work to investigate the cause of the collapse.

Helicopter crews believe they have identified a transformer as a heat source which could have led to the collapse.
