Just like other prophets and messengers, Allah the Almighty also bestowed Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) the power to perform miracles in His Name.  Some of these miracles are compiled in Shahih Al-Bukhari, the most authentic book after the Qur’an as follows:

Splitting of the moon:

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated, “The people of Makkah asked the Prophet (Peace be upon him) to show them a sign (miracle). So he showed them (the miracle) of the splitting of the moon.” (Reported by Bukhari, Vol. 4, Hadeeth 831 and Vol. 6, Hadeeth 390)

Crying of the Tree:

Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) used to stand by a tree or a date-palm on Friday. Then an Ansari man said. “O Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him)!  Shall we make a pulpit for you?” He replied, “If you wish.” So they made a pulpit for him and when it was Friday, he proceeded towards the pulpit (for delivering the sermon). The date-palm cried like a child! The Prophet (Peace be upon him) descended (the pulpit) and embraced it while it continued moaning like a child being quieted. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, “It was crying for (missing) what it used to hear of religious knowledge given near to it.” (Reported by Bukhari Vol.4 verse 784)

Food Glorifying Allah:

Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: “We used to consider miracles as Allah's Blessings, but you people consider them to be a warning. Once we were with Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) on a journey, and we ran short of water. He said, “Bring the water remaining with you.” The people brought a utensil containing a little water. He placed his hand in it and said, “Come to the blessed water, and the Blessing is from Allah.” I saw the water flowing from among the fingers of Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him), and no doubt, we heard the meal glorifying Allah, when it was being eaten (by him).” (Reported by Bukhari Vol.4 verse 779)

Food became abundant:

Salama (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Once the journey - food of the people ran short and they were in great need. So, they came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) to take his permission for slaughtering their camels, and he permitted them. Then ‘Umar met them and they informed him about it. He said, “What will sustain you after your camels (are finished)?” Then ‘Umar went to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) and said, “O Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him)! What will sustain them after their camels (are finished)?” Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) said, “Make an announcement amongst the people that they should bring all their remaining food (to me).” (They brought it and) the Prophet (Peace be upon him) invoked Allah and asked for His Blessings for it. Then he asked them to bring their food utensils and the people started filling their food utensils with their hands till they were satisfied. Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) then said, “I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and I am His Messenger.” (Reported by Bukhari Vol. 4 verse 225)

Some loaves of barley bread intended for the Prophet became sufficient for eighty men:

Anas Ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Abu Talha said to Um Sulaim, “I have heard the voice of Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) which was feeble, and I think that he is hungry. Have you got something (to eat)?” She took out some loaves of barley bread, then took her face-covering sheet and wrapped the bread in part of it, and pushed it under my garment and turned the rest of it around my body and sent me to Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him). I went with that, and found Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) in the mosque with some people. I stood up near them, and Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) asked me, “Have you been sent by Abu Talha?” I said, “Yes.” He asked, “With some food (for us)?” I said, “Yes.” Then Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) said to all those who were with him, “Get up!” He set out (and all the people accompanied him) and I proceeded ahead of them till I came to Abu Talha. Abu Talha then said, “O Um Sulaim! Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) has arrived along with the people, and we do not have food enough to feed them all.” She said, “Allah and His Messenger (Peace be upon him) know better.” So Abu Talha went out till he met Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him). Then Abu Talha and Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) came and entered the house. Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) said, “Um Sulaim! Bring whatever you have.” She brought that very bread. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) ordered that it be crushed into small pieces, and Um Sulaim pressed a skin of butter on it. Then Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) said whatever Allah wished him to say (to bless the food) and then added, “Admit ten (men).” So they were admitted, ate their fill and went out. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) then said, “Admit ten (more).” They were admitted, ate their fill, and went out. He then again said, “Admit ten more!” They were admitted, ate their fill, and went out. He admitted ten more, and so all those people ate their fill, and they were eighty men. (Reported by Bukhari Vol. 7 verse 293)

One slaughtered sheep more than enough for 380 people:

Abdur Rahman bin Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated: We were one-hundred and thirty persons accompanying the Prophet (Peace be upon him) who asked us whether anyone of us had food. There was a man who had about a Sa of wheat which was mixed with water then. A very tall pagan came driving sheep. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) asked him, “Will you sell us (a sheep) or give it as a present?” He said, “I will sell you (a sheep).” The Prophet (Peace be upon him) bought a sheep and it was slaughtered. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) ordered that its liver and other abdominal organs be roasted. By Allah, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) gave every person of the one-hundred-and-thirty a piece of that; he gave all those of them who were present; and kept the shares of those who were absent. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) then put its meat in two huge basins and all of them ate to their fill, and even then more food was left in the two basins which were carried on the camel (or said something like it). (Reported by Bukhari Vol.3 verse 787)

Invocation for rain immediately responded:

Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: A man came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) on a Friday while he (the Prophet) was delivering a sermon at Madinah, and said, “There is lack of rain, so please invoke your Rabb (Cherisher and Sustainer) to bless us with the rain.” The Prophet (Peace be upon him) looked at the sky when no cloud could be detected. Then he invoked Allah for rain. Clouds started gathering together and it rained till the Madinah valleys started flowing with water. It continued raining till the next Friday. Then that man (or some other man) stood up while the Prophet (Peace be upon him) was delivering the Friday sermon, and said, “We are drowned; Please invoke your Rabb (Cherisher and Sustainer) to withhold it (rain) from us.” The Prophet (Peace be upon him) smiled and said twice or thrice, “O Allah! Please let it rain round about us and not upon us.” The clouds started dispersing over Madinah to the right and to the left, and it rained round about Madinah and not upon Madinah. Allah showed them (the people) the miracle of His Prophet (Peace be upon him) and His response to his invocation. (Reported by Bukhari Vol.8 verse 115)

Two of the companions of the Prophet departed from him on a dark night and were led by two lights like lamps:

Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: “Two of the companions of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) departed from him on a dark night and were led by two lights like lamps (going in front of them from Allah as a miracle) lighting the way in front of them, and when they parted, each of them was accompanied by one of these lights till he reached their (respective) houses.”  (Reported by Bukhari Vol.1 verse 454)

More than 70 persons were able to perform ablution out of little amount of water in a pot:

Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: “The Prophet (Peace be upon him) went out on one of his journeys with some of his companions. They went on walking till the time of the prayer became due. They could not find water to perform the ablution. One of them went away and brought a little amount of water in a pot. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) took it and performed the ablution, and then stretched his four fingers on to the pot and said (to the people); “Get up to perform the ablution.” They started performing the ablution till all of them did it, and they were seventy or so persons.” (Reorted by Bukhari Vol.4 verse 774)
