Europe and Islam

It was decreed by Allah that Muslims paid more attention in their conquests to the east more than their interest in the west because the civilizations were focused in that side. The Persians and the Romans were in the north and the east of the Arabian Peninsula, but there was no valuable civilization in Europe to attract the attention of that rising nation, which bore the responsibility to remove oppression and free the world, so it headed to the global power at that time. Therefore, it did not pay attention to the uncivilized people of Europe.

Islam entered Europe at the end of the first century, namely; in 92 AH, when Tariq ibn Ziyad crossed the ocean along with thirty thousands of Muslims who stepped Europe for the first time when the nation was still at the peak of power. They opened Europe for Islam and three years later, they reached the borders of Paris; only thirty kilometers separated them from the city. Had not been for the Muslims' defeat in the Battle of Tours, which took place near the city of Poitiers where the Christians gathered four hundred thousand combatants, our world today would have been much better, but it is fate that must prevail at the end, no matter we like it or not. Verily, Allah does what He wants.

Europe had another appointment with Muslims, but from another point of view and of another type when the Ottoman Turks held the banner of Islam for some time. They started to direct their campaigns to Europe after they had conquered Russia. The fortress of Belgrade city was a bulwark against Muslims until the cannons of Sultan Suleiman crushed it to the ground and conquered the city in 927 AH. The Sultan went to conquer Europe and did not stop until the walls of Vienna, to which he could not drag his cannons because of mud and rain. He returned home until the city was conquered for the second time by Sultan Muhammad IV after a century and a half, exactly in 1094 AH. He almost opened it unless the betrayal of one of his commanders, leaving Europe again to remain in the darker years. And Allah has full power and control over His Affairs.

Days have passed, conditions were turned upside down, and the nation of Islam declined after it let down the command of mankind. As a result, all nations attacked it as eaters attack the dishes of food, the Muslim land became inviolable, their countries were usurped, and everything was free for the enemies. The conditions changed to the extent that the country of the Muslim caliphate seeks the pleasure of the European countries by all means in order to accept it among its union and forgive its bright past, but how come "Never will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you (O Muhammad) till you follow their religion." [Surat Al-Baqarah: 120].

The era of secularism has come, the world became a small village, and people came into contact with Muslims; thereupon Europe fell in the position it did not want in the first place. The blood that was shed in fighting Islam and its efforts have been wasted in a failure attempt to blur the light of Islam and they could not hold itself to be admired by this religion and its impact. Accordingly, Islam has revived again in Europe, not in the south as it was in the first time and not from the east as was in the second time, but from among themselves, it emerged in their homeland and in the hearts of their own people. This religion which European expelled and killed its children began to spread in Europe as fire catches straws and as a daylight in the middle of the night in a fast way that Europe has not witnessed until it became the first widespread religion in the world. Moreover, in France alone, more than 50 thousand people embraced Islam in 2004. It is nice that their football team includes seven Muslim players "They intend to put out the Light of Allah (i.e., the religion of Islam, this Qur'an, and Prophet Muhammad) with their mouths. But Allah will complete His Light even though the disbelievers hate (it)." [Surat As-Saf: 8].

It was amazing that the Arab community, which Europe brought to contempt in very hard and tiring professions and arduous work, was the first contingent of the new Islamic conquest that struck them while they were powerless as they had no energy, and attacked them from they did not expect, to repeat the story of truth when it encounters falsehood and light when it encounters darkness. Europe has surrendered to the invasion, which it did not feel and did not notice but after twelve million persons had embraced Islam. Now you can find 97 masjids in Paris alone and the French police became the authority that organizes roads when they are closed due to the Friday Salah. Allah (Glory be to Him) says: "Verily, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend it; but in the end it will become an anguish for them. Then they will be overcome." [Surat Al Anfal: 36].

Islam has proved to be the truth that touches the hearts and the only religion that people embrace by just reading a book or listening to a tape, unlike Christianity, which its institutions have reached a quarter-million Christianizing institutions all around the world which about 181 billion dollars were spent for the dissemination of their dogmas in 1991.[1] Despite the power they had and the methods of influence and temptation that were given to it by civilization, and despite the weakness of Islam and Muslims and all the monies and efforts spent, the number of Muslims' apostates are few and thanks are due to Allah. The word of Tawhid (monotheism) still a hurricane that distracts their winds, a sun that covers their eyes, and a guidance prior to their misguidance.

Today, we still see the young Europeans embrace Islam in groups and we still hear their voices stuttering when uttering the two testimonies of faith to declare it to the people that nothing will stand between Islam and the people to know it well. This is what the Church is trying hard to cover and prevent the people to get to know it as their ancestors tried to do. Allah reported their saying as they said: "Listen not to this Qur'an, and make noise in the midst of its (recitation) that you may overcome." [Surat Fussilat: 26].

Islam is spreading largely in Europe. It spreads fast as the number of the newly converts to Islam and as the number of newborns of Muslims who are confirming the Prophet's saying: "Multiply, multiply for I shall be proud of you on the Day of Judgment)," unlike the Christians whose numbers are decreasing day after another. If the situation continues as it is today, we will witness a change in the religious map of Europe after a decade or two.

But for how long the enemies of Islam will keep silent about this great victory?
The Christian Church along with its troops and popes will not give them freedom to choose for themselves. They will not leave Islam inhabit the land on which their ancestors fought to stand between Islam and them. Evil should rise and this sect has to restore its old work and to prevent the people form heading to the way of Allah as much as they can; in accordance to what Allah had told in the Qur'an, He says: "O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Why do you stop those who have believed, from the Path of Allah, seeking to make it seem crooked, while you (yourselves) are witnesses [to Muhammad as a Messenger of Allah and Islam (Allah's Religion, i.e., to worship none but Him Alone)]? And Allah is not unaware of what you do." [Surat Al `Imran: 99].

They have realized the danger of the Islamic invasion to their lands, but they cannot get rid of these intellectual shackles that they have set for themselves and the principles on which they established their democracy. How much they attacked Muslims with this weapon, which turned back against them, thanks are due to Allah. It has become a motto that protects Islam and Muslims in all walks of life, Allah says: "and Allah is the Best of the planners." [Surat Al Anfal: 30].

Those people will not be able to hide behind these masks forever. We started to hear bad voices who hate to see a masjid, a Muslim with a beard, or a woman wearing Hijab (head cover) and these faces started to gather and their mockery began to show up. "Indeed We have made plain to you the Ayahs (proofs, evidences, verses) if you understand. * Lo! You are the ones who love them but they love you not." [Surat Al `Imran: 118-119].

Will these faked smiles last?
Will those people do further actions or they just will warn and condemn?
Will Europe be the host of calling to Islam and callers?
