Negative rearing and television

Out talk is still connected about the negative rearing and the absence of awareness.

Now our talk is about the absence of awareness and not supervising kids while watching TV and most electronic means because they are very dangerous in the stage of childhood if parents leave their children in front of these programs to rear them without codification or filtrations and following up what children usually watch.

We leave our children to these modern electronic means to educate and raise them up without close observation.

We only search for the impact of these means after it is too late in a time where regret is of no avail.

Of these means:
television, electronic games, Internet, and others. There are some customs and social relationships which may leave a negative effect in the personality of the child, whereas many educators neglect and do not give it any importance while it is very dangerous if the guardian is absent such as: Friends and private lessons which have spread in our homes like fire in straws.

Here are some details about the impact of these methods in rearing children:

First, new electronic means:

1- Television:

Indeed, a child precedes others in search and curiosity that is because he has a strong desire to make an image that is different from the environment in which he lives.

Media plays an important role in forming the child's personality either negatively or positively, but the resulting harm from media on a child is very serious and the area of that harm increases according to the media invasion and variety of programs dedicated for children, and the ability of these programs to present creative works that fascinate the minds of the children and attract their attentions and hearing for many hours without boredom or break.
The harms of TV screen, its negative impacts, and destructive effects of television are verified according to the variety of children's interests and their family, social, and health status.

Television is one of the most dangerous means of relaxation but rather the narcosis in modern time. The danger of television is greater than to be described, therefore when one of the researchers described it as (the third father) of a child, another one replied: Nay, it is the first father.

Socialists said:
TV should support the culture of youth instead of destroying it in the middle of the low moral level and blind imitation which youth live.

Psychiatrists say:
The psychological impact of immoral scenes is very negative on unmarried youth whether boys or girls because such scenes are used for sexual arousal in a public way.

When a viewer sees these porno scenes for a singer, he is possessed by unwilling desire for sexual arousal, especially porno songs which the people in charge should not broadcast for the sake of our children and youth who are the origin of the future in this country.

Of the serious damages to which a Muslim child is exposed due to long staying before TV are as follows:

First, Wasting time in things which do not avail:

Many varieties are displayed on TV screen, such as: cartoons, competitions, games, adventure stories, science fiction, series, etc., which make children to stay long hours in front of TV without moving.

Indeed, TV took long hours from our children and they became prisoners of scenes and programs which are displayed on that attractive screen.
That time affects badly their health, thoughts, and lives in general. Educators take part in this crime, especially as we know the value of time and the keenness of our religion to care for them and rearing children is better than reforming a corrupt person.

Second, depriving children of play:

The most prominent negative effects on the psychological and behavioral formation of children are depriving children from playtime which is the most important in their lives and the most important medium of obtaining knowledge and the medium by which they can practise and develop necessary behavior for their survival.

During playing, children struggle to overcome their problems and difficulties which are facing them in their surroundings.

They thought that they own the ability to control their surroundings, but they learn fast that many things cannot move like trees and learn also that some actions are forbidden such as harming animals or some things may cause pain such as touching fire.

Moreover,
playing has an important effect on the emotional growth of a child because over time it controls its reckless behavior when its attacks make its colleague cry or stop when they attack it.

Therefore, the absence of play as a result of the long stay before TV leads to deterioration in children's abilities and a child is characterized by increasing passivity, less ability to bear the small frustrations, and the decline of persistence.

So,
it cannot engage in a difficult matter, but it always needs excitement and suspense, so we find it refrain from the slow start in hope of winning the subsequent gains.

Third, the difficulty of dealing with experiences and events which are facing a child in its life:

This may result in inability to face others and inability to solve life's problems which they are facing from time to time because watching TV causes numerous health, psychological, and social problems.

Fourth, follow-up porno channels:

This leads to the loss of religion, the corruption of chivalry, the lack of jealousy, the killing of virtue, and the killing of modesty, in addition to the darkness of the heart and extinguishing its light.

Fifth, imitating grown-up people in sexual relation:

This is one of the educational and moral harms and leads to the early-stimulations of desires inside children.

Some children were seen doing that with their sisters who did not exceed three years, and when they were asked about that, children said: (as in the movie). We all belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. This is because of cartoons movies which contain: Love stories, defending one's lover, exposed clothes, hugs, and kisses between males and females and all these scenes which fill children's minds then they start to imitate what they see with their brothers and sisters at home or in their clothes, behavior, and treatments and that causes great danger on the nation.

Sixth, shaking the faith of children in their lord:

Cartoons have bad effects in shaking the faith of children in their lord like the case of Mickey Mouse.

That mouse lives in space and has a clear impact on volcanoes and rains, so it can stop volcanoes, send down rain, stop the wind, and help others, so why they create a mouse in the sky? Why they portray it as having the power to control phenomena on the ground? These wicked hints are exposed to everyone, moreover cartoons have many doctrinal errors which children may get used to and believe in its validity such as bowing down to others until it looks like bowing down and prostration to Allah.

Moreover, these cartoons contain sorcery and may portray a sorcerer whether male or female as full of goodness and helps the oppressed as Cinderella.

The story speaks about a female sorcerer who helps Cinderella to attend the party of the king and enjoy dancing, etc. The effect of these scenes extended to affect the language of children who repeat many of these phrases and we fear that they ask the parents to learn sorcery.

Seventh, defaming the image of religious people:

Whether they intend it or not, and this appears evident in (Popeye) program, which depicts two men, one is good and polite and the other is evil.

They portray the evil person as a bearded man to defame religious Muslims by using one of the symbols of religion i.e., the beard.

They depict the bearded as evil, kidnapper, robber, loves evil, explodes things, and follows up girls or in other words, a terrorist; why they portray the evil man as a breaded man and the good man is shaved? Why they used the religious symbol of Muslims? There are some questions that should be raised and the Jewish producers of these cartoons should answer them.

Eighth, spreading grooming and unveiling:

Drawing the attention of children to some immoral things, which is numerous in cartoons.

We may say that there is no program free of nudity, flirt, and running after girls, and no wonder because this is what they have in their society: Bare breasts, exposed thighs, flirt between the two sexes, expression of love in romantic atmosphere, running after girls, offering gifts to them to gain their love, and leaving jobs and works when seeing a girl. Indeed, viewing these scenes without supervision makes children get used to them, moreover they may grow up believing in these actions which are contrary to our religion and our morality.

Ninth, spreading terror and fear:

The matter may open new horizons in the world of crime. It was mentioned that the parents of a child wanted to travel and when they were about to ride the car, they saw the lights of the alarm are on.

When they checked the matter, they could see that the wire was cut off by a knife and when they asked the child, it said: I cut it and I want to cut the brake wire to avenge you because you were about to leave me alone.

When it was asked how did it do that, it said: "I saw it in the movie."  Children are hit by the increasing of fear rate noticeably on TV such as: (blood - the wounded - the dead - weapons - predators - ghosts - the wars and many other terrible scenes in movies and soap operas and cartoons) along with other horrible scenes which generates repeated fear and takes away security which children should enjoy.

Moreover, it is the right of children that their parents and the entire world should give. The long stay before TV makes them believe in these meanings and believe that it will happen which reflects badly on their personality and their future and creates dual personality and cause repeated psychological problems. Furthermore, cartoons develop in them negative qualities such as envy, hatred, and the love of revenge. Some children fear the dark and cry thinking that they will see a ghost in their sleep and wake up crying, and when we ask them about that, they say: A ghost because of the horrible scenes which they saw in TV.

Tenth, the emergence of mental and physical diseases:

The long stay of a child in front of TV screen expose it to numerous mental and physical diseases according to how long they stay before TV and their nearness and remoteness from TV screen.

Of these diseases: Anxiety, depression, presenility which result from exposure to electromagnetic waves emanating from the TV screen, in addition to dangerous harms such as weight gaining, muscle sagging, and pains of joint and the back.

Eleventh, corrupting the Arabic language at children:

Images and scenes which are displayed on the screen have been written in slang or in an accent different from the accent of a child or a broken Arabic language.

Unfortunately, the concerns of the movie producers are writing the movie in foreign languages and forget about the classical Arabic, which leads to distortion of children's tongues, thoughts, orientation, and concern.

Finally, we must be aware of the seriousness of this attractive screen on the minds of our children, their times, and concerns, and to appreciate their needs to them in amount that fulfills their watching. We should not underestimate their different programs and cartoons.

Again, I want to say: Parents should pay more attention to their children and protect them against anything bad that may harm their lives and rearing.
