Question

As-salamu `Alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh (May Allah's Peace, Mercy, and Blessings be upon you!)

I am a young man who has not reached twenty years yet. I am in a terrible distress which only Allah (may He be Exalted) knows to the extent that I feel I am too old.

My father has died several years ago then I was expelled from school and sat in the house without doing anything and dedicated myself to the Internet. I failed in almost everything and I do not have money to start a new work in addition to the multiple family problems.

I live alone and confused, and my only free scope is the Internet until the time when I wanted to commit suicide came but with no use.

From inside, I am a good and polite person. I love Allah and I love goodness to all people, but I can stand no more; could you kindly advise?!

Answer

Dear valued brother, As-salamu `Alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh (May Allah's Peace, Mercy, and Blessings be upon you!)

We thank you for your communication with us and for your trust in Alukah Network.

We appreciate your hard circumstances and the gloomy world you feel after the death of your father and desertion of people to you.

Despite all these circumstances, we want you to remember that you are a religious person and believe in fate and destiny. You know for sure what had hit you would not have missed you, and what had missed you, would not have hit you. Verily, with hardship comes ease, relief always comes with hardship, and victory always is achieved by patience.

You should also recall the Hadith in which the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "How wonderful is the case of a believer; there is good for him in everything and this applies only to a believer. If prosperity attends him, he expresses gratitude to Allah and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently and that is better for him." [Reported by Muslim].

This Hadith is one of the powerful Hadiths that makes a believer observe patience and teaches him the principles of believing in fate and destiny; and we suppose you a religious person.

This is the first solution to your problem which is affirming faith in fate and destiny.

The second solution lies in directing yourself toward positive moving in various aspects of life.

We do not know the reason for expelling you from schooling, is it because of your bad academic level or because of your financial situation?

Anyway, you can solve both problems if you have good planning, determination, and will.

While you are sitting on your computer, you may learn and achieve something in your life such as working in E-commerce or do many things if you have the will.

I know some people created an account in Instagram to receive commercial ads, then published them, and won good profit although Instagram is free.

I also know some people who edit articles or revise them linguistically from home and gain a lot of money, and so on. You only need:

* Good planning.

* Active determination.

And before all these, you need to rely on Allah, the Most Gracious in Whose Hands lie the keys of heavens and the earth Who says "Be" to something, and it will be.

May Allah open the gates of goodness to you and open your heart to guidance.

May Allah grant you and us success!
