Boredom is killing me .. And I am always crying

Question

As-Salamu `Alaykum. My problem is: I always feel bored and choked. This feeling began with me before marriage and I thought that the reason was getting away from my fiancé because I am religious and did not speak to him during the engagement period.

Then I got married and I did not feel comfortable even though I love my husband very much and he also loves me. I was crying bitterly and he kept on asking me about the reason but I had no answer because I do not know why.

Weeks kept on passing while crying and that matter vexed my husband, taking into consideration that I do not enjoy the sexual relation and always feel guilty and dissatisfied with myself; it hurts me a lot to have that case, and I have been married for two years.

Could you kindly help me? Sorry for prolongation, and As-Salamu `Alaykum.

I have read your letter with interest and I can feel your painful feelings from which I ask Allah to relieve you.

Obviously, you are suffering depression which is a common disease from which about one fifth of women worldwide are suffering, and it is out of your hand.

The good news is that the treatment of this disease is easy and accessible. Thanks to Allah, nowadays Allah granted us due to the scientific revolution some useful medications with no side effects and do not cause addiction. You will feel better after few days of taking these medications.

You should not wait more, rely on Allah, follow the proper means, and visit a psychiatrist as soon as possible because you have the right to treat yourself when you feel sick, so do not be late.

Be confident in Allah and rely on Him, may Allah guide you to the best.
