It was reported in an authentic Hadith on the authority of `Umar ibn Al Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) tchohat a man from the Jews said to him: O Emir of the believers, you have an Ayah in your book which you recite, had it been revealed to us, the Jews, we would have taken that day (on which it was revealed) as a day of celebration. He asked: Which Ayah? He said: "This day, those who disbelieved have given up all hope of your religion; so fear them not, but fear Me. This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islâm as your religion." [Surat Al Ma'idah: 3]. `Umar said: No doubt, we know when and where this Ayah was revealed to the Prophet (peace be upon him). It was Friday and the Prophet (peace be upon him) was standing at `Arafat (i.e. the Day of Hajj)."

Through this scene, we realize how sorry the Jew was and the chaos in which the Jews have lived after they had lost confidence and creditability, therefore the perfection of religion is priceless.

That Day deserves to be a day of celebration so as lives would be joyful with the eternity of Shari`ah sources and the firmness of religion before the tries of messing and distortion due to different understanding, or adding to them as the Jews and monks did in Judaism and Christianity.

So, they instituted for the people a religion which Allah has not ordained and burdened people's shoulders by their ignorance, therefore they deserved Allah's Wrath. Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says about the Jews: "So because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them and made their hearts grow hard." [Surat Al Ma'idah: 13]. Why is that? Because "They change the words from their (right) places and have abandoned a good part of the Message that was sent to them." [Surat Al Ma'idah: 13].

As for Muslims, Allah has undertaken to protect this religion which will last forever as day and night remain. "Verily, We, it is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur'ân) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption)." [Surat Al Hijr: 9]. We have a divine source, a divine protection to the sources of Shari`ah, faithful and pious scholars who protect the Shari`ah rulings against any confusion, doubt, or messing.

It was reported in Sunan Abu Dawud with an authentic chain of narration that the Prophet (peace be upon him) told the people that Allah would raise for this community at the end of every hundred years the one who will renovate its religion for it.

The first Muslim generation realized that preservation of Allah to His Religion is correlated with the efforts of men, sacrifice with souls in the way of Allah, and incitation of intellectuals to realize the greatness of Allah, defend Him, attack His Enemies, and refute the claims through clear proofs. As for those who abandon and quit this field, Allah shall replace them with a better people who are more firm, more pure, and more sacrificing; bearing the slogan of "And I hastened to You, O my Lord, that You might be pleased." [Surat Taha: 84].

Although Muslims passed by stages of weakness and recession, they soon get back to the right track and Straight Path. Whoever reviews history realizes that falsehood decays even if it has got an upper hand. Islam has the final round even if it stumbles sometimes because this is Allah's Way (of conducting affairs), and you shall not find a way to change the way of Allah.

This religion shall not be honored by our service to it, but it honors us as long as we hold fast with it and call to it. How many Muslims were born, passed away, and were forgotten by their relatives, not to mention the rest of people! How many great people who are hard to forget because of their efforts and good manners whether they are scholars, thinkers, or leaders who still in the hearts: A group of people died but their good actions did not and some people lived while they have no memory among people.

The fear is not for Islam because we can see its extension, power, and spread in the east and the west, but the fear should be for Muslims when they lag behind. Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says to His Prophet: "But if these (i.e. disbelievers) disbelieve therein (the Book, Al-Hukm and Prophethood), then, indeed We have entrusted it to a people (such as the Companions of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him) who are not disbelievers therein." [Surat Al An`am: 89].

The chiefs of Quraysh denied Islam, so Allah erased their memory. However, Suhayb, `Ammar, and Bilal embraced Islam, thus they gained the honor, the glory of following the Prophet, the immortality of remembrance, and the best final destination; would Muslims realize the originality of their religion in order to follow its path?

Very often the truth is denied and censured not because of ignoring it, but because of the heedlessness and bad manner of those who convey it.

On the other hand, falsehood may be accepted not because it is false, but because of the easiness and good manner of those who spread it.

Indeed, Islam in some countries are obstructed by its people i.e., Muslims themselves may obstruct the vision of the beauties and good teachings of Islam. If you observe the conditions of those who attack Islam, you will find them having no evidence, moreover they do not have an intellectual evidence to prove their claim. The reason for defending falsehood is either ignorance, oppression, or a reaction of some Muslims' behavior.

Finally, I want to say: If we do not manage to call to our religion, the least we can do is to stop turning people away from it. Peace be upon you.

3- Islam is my desire
jihan sorow - USA - 01/10/2011 02:48 PM

This is a good topic. I have been desiring to embrace Islam long time ago but seeing some Muslims in USA who give a bad image to Islam prevented me to do so. Most people here hold the Shiite doctrine or of the groups which do not have the straight doctrine of Ahl As-Sunnah. I read a lot about Islam but their actions make me hesitant to embrace it.
