Use High Tech Means for Qur’an Learning: Islamic Scholar

Jeddah – A leading Saudi Islamic preacher underscored the need for using all the highly advanced means and technologies in teaching and learning the Holy Qur’an.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz Hanafi, head of the Khairukum Charitable Society, said that all the available facilities and avenues shall be explored in learning the holy book, while speaking at the opening of the Qur’an smart classroom center at Sheikh ul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah Madrassa here recently. With the opening of the center, Hanafi said, the number of smart Qur’an learning centers, launched by the society reached 33. The latest one is being managed by the Jeddah Indian Islahi Center. The smart centers are aimed at enabling the younger generation to learn Qur’an easily by using all the high tech facilities and applications.

Hanafi also briefed the attendees on the new scheme for distance learning of the Holy Qur’an, which is being implemented with the special directive of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman. The latest technology, including mobile applications, gadgets, tablets, and laptops will be utilized as tools in the learning process.

Hanafi congratulated the Islahi Center for facilitating his society to open its latest smart Qur’an learning center. “Those who complete the two-year course will be given away with certificates from Khairukum Society,” he said and promised the Islahi Center all support to open a special smart classroom for women learners.  Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shaukatali of King Abdulaziz University urged the younger generation to tap the information technology to develop desirable behavioral changes and seize the new horizons of knowledge, especially in Qur’an.  Abdurahman Kansara, another speaker, said that the new initiative will help IT savvy students to learn Qur’an in the best manner.
