The Religious Department of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan announces Friday a holiday

The Religious Department of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (DUMK) announces Friday a holiday for its employees. Such decision was taken at today’s regular DUMK’s meeting headed by Grand Mufti of the country Chubak azhy Zhalilov.

As they say in the Religious Department of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, Friday and Sunday will be official holidays for all DUMK’s employees including DUMK’s administration, regional kazyyats, districts khatibs and imams of mosques.

“In contrary to other days Friday is a special day for Muslims. Believers are attending Friday namaz and visit their relatives, and perform alms-deeds,” ministers of religion remind.

Let’s remind, according to the Constitution, Kyrgyzstan is a secular unitary state. Religions are separated from the government in Kyrgyzstan. Earlier the Speaker of the Parliament Akhmatbek Keldibekov approved two hour break in the Parliament’s work on Fridays allowing believers to perform namaz.

Official authorities don’t respond on such initiatives.
