The Resurrection (5)

How much time is there between the first blow and the second?

Allah Almighty says about the two blows:

{ مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ   * فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ تَوْصِيَةً وَلَا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُونَ   *  وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَ }

“They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing. And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return. And the Horn will be blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten” [Yasin: 49-51]

The Prophet (peace be upon him) made it clear that what are between them are 40. In Sahih Muslim (there is) the Hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Between the two blowings of the trumpet (there would be an interval of forty). They said: Abu Huraira, do you mean forty days? He said: I cannot say anything. They said: Do you mean forty months? He said: I cannot say anything.” Then Allah would cause the water to, descend from the sky and they (people) will sprout like vegetable. .”[1]
