The Gathering (2)

Even the animals are gathered on the Day of Resurrection.

That is correct from the words of the people of knowledge. The book and the Sunnah prove that.

From the book: His words Almighty:

{وَإِذَا الْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ}

“And when the wild beasts are gathered” [Al Takweer: 5]

And His words Almighty:

{وَمَا مِن دَابَّةٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا طَائِرٍ يَطِيرُ بِجَنَاحَيْهِ إِلَّا أُمَمٌ أَمْثَالُكُم ۚ  مَّا فَرَّطْنَا فِي الْكِتَابِ مِن شَيْءٍ ۚ  ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يُحْشَرُونَ}

“And there is no creature on [or within] the earth or bird that flies with its wings except [that they are] communities like you. We have not neglected in the Register a thing. Then unto their Lord they will be gathered.” [Al Anaam: 38]

From the Sunnah: the Hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The claimants would get their claims on the Day of Ressurection so much so that the Jalha sheep would get its claim from the horned sheep.”[1]

Al Nawawi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “this is a statement of the gathering of animals on the Day of Resurrection and bringing them again on the Day of Resurrection like the people of trust from the believers, the children, mad people and the ones who did not receive an invitation and for this there is proof from the Qur'an and Sunnah…The scholars have said: it is not a condition of the gathering and returning on the Day of Resurrection that there should be reward and punishment. As for the retribution of the hornless (sheep) from the Jalha, that is not from the commissioning retribution as there is no commissioning over it but it is a meeting of retribution…”[2]

Also, it is a retribution that clarifies the level of clear justice on that day. Even between the animals. As Allah Almighty said:

{لَا ظُلْمَ الْيَوْمَ}

“No injustice today!” [Ghafir: 17] .

[1] Narrated by Muslim number (2582). Jalha: the one that has no horns

[2] Look at: Sharh Al Nawawi by Muslim volume (16), the bookof Bir wa Al Sila, the chapter of Tahreem Al Thulm
