141- He is Allah, the Giver of blessings who brings forth for people those fruits and crops which people pay attention to and grow them in gardens, whereas others are found in wild nature. Or some of them are spread on the surface of earth, whereas others are based on trunk and shape.

He is the one who produces palm trees that produce useful fresh dates as well as crops with all their kinds, likewise the useful olive of different tastes and delicious pomegranate with different types, whether similar or not. So, eat of these good fruits and do not forget to feed the poor and the needy of it. Give them part of it at harvest whether from Zakah or charity, and do not exaggerate in eating or giving, for Allah does not like those who transgress limits.

142- It is Allah who created animals for you to ride some of them and carry your luggage on them such as camels and horses and benefit from others such as sheep. So, you eat their meat, milk them, and make from their wool and hair sheets and beddings. So, eat of what Allah provided you of these good and lawful fruits and do not follow the deception of Satan in lawfulizing and prohibiting what Allah subjugated for you, for He is their Creator and yours. Therefore, He is the only one who should legislate (lawfulize or prohibit), whereas Satan is your enemy, so do not let it deceive you by lawfulizing every evil, trial, and harm.

143- These are the animals which the polytheists claimed to lawfulize, prohibited parts of their bodies, and classified them as their weak minds and deviant whims depicted. They are eight pairs, each of them is composed of Male and female: Two pairs of sheep, two pairs of goats, which of them Allah prohibited: male or female? Or the embryo that lies in the female womb? Tell me how do you claim that Allah prohibited Bahirah, Sa'ibah, and other kinds of animals while He did not prohibit that, tell me if you are truthful.

144- Two pairs of camels and two pairs of cows. O Prophet, ask them: Did Allah prohibit the male or the female of them or the embryo that lies in the womb of a female? Or you were present when Allah commended you to prohibit that? How awful is your claim?! There is no one more oppressing than the one who attributes lies against Allah and claims that prohibition is part of the Shari`ah to prevent people from the Straight Path without knowledge or revelation; indeed Allah does not guide the people who transgress the truth and who attribute lies against Allah.

145- Say to the polytheists who prohibited those things and attributed them falsely to Allah: I cannot find any of the things which you prohibited in the revelation of Allah except the following: Dead animals (they are mentioned in details in Surat Al Ma'idah: 3), liquid blood (so what is mixed with bones or meat is overlooked), pork because it is filthy, or animals that are slaughtered for idols. So, whoever is forced to eat something of these prohibited matters without extravagance Allah shall forgive him for that and bestow mercy on him.

Things that are prohibited by the Sunnah were added to those types: Domestic donkeys, animals with canine teeth, birds with claws because they are specification of the general ruling or represent a a new ruling.

Ibn Kathir (may Allah bestow mercy on him) said: Accordingly, prohibitions that had been mentioned later on in Surat Al Ma'idah and in the Hadiths abrogated the meaning of the Ayah. Some scholars call that abrogation, whereas most of the later do not call it abrogation but part of canceling the original permissibility.

146- We forbade for the Jew every animal of uncloven hoof either from animals or birds such as camels, ostriches, ducks, and geese. We also forbade for them the fat of cows and sheep except the fats at their backs or around the intestines or fats that are mixed by food as a punishment for disobeying Our Commands regarding usury, eating up people's money without right, and killing the Prophets. Indeed, We are truthful about the things which We prohibited, truthful about their oppression and aggression, and We are just when punishing them.

147- If the Jews belied you and said: Those were forbidden to Noah, Abraham, and the following Prophets until the ruling came to us. Tell them: Verily, your Lord is Merciful, therefore He does not punish you immediately for your lies and sins, but His Torment is not turned back or warded off from the disbelievers when its time comes, so be ware and do not deny the truth.

148- The polytheists shall say to you: If Allah had willed, we and our fathers would not have disbelieved nor prohibited anything of what we prohibit today. However, He willed so and that means legitimacy, accordingly what we do is valid and permissible.

This is a mere lie, and some disbelieving nations invented such lie until Our Torment came to them and made them taste Our Punishment.

O Prophet, ask them: Do you have a book or a manifest proof from Allah to prove your truthfulness, so you can show it to us to comfort our hearts?! What you follow is just an illusion and corrupted belief; you only tell lies against Allah. Allah does not satisfy disbelief, polytheism, and evil actions to His Servants, so how could you attribute these lies to Allah while you had not witness His Creation? Why did He send torment to you? If your doubt had been true, He would not have made you taste the torment.

149- Say to the polytheists: For Allah is the clear proof, the full wisdom, and the true and the valid evidence for those whom He has guided and those whom He has misled. If He wills, He will create a nature inside people to only know guidance, but He tries people and give them choices in their beliefs and facilitates for everyone what He wants then reckons them for their actions.

150- Say to the polytheists: Bring your martyrs who may support your claim that Allah prohibited these types, and when they bear witness, they will be lairs, so do not bear witness to them and do not believe them because they are telling lies. Moreover, explain the corruption of their view and do not agree with the disbelievers in their deviant whims because they deny our miracles and clear proofs, belie resurrection, and associate partners to Allah in worship.
