Many people complain about what they see in the streets, markets, and hospitals of different types of violations that some Muslims commit, such as: women's adornment, women going out without their Mahram (unmarriageable male relative or a spouse), imitating western way of life, and committing sins publicly. When a person ponders over all kinds of offenses -which are unlike all he read about in the books-, and he becomes frustrated and despaired. These feelings of disappointment are insinuated by the one who made an oath to prevent the people of good acts and disseminate within themselves defeat, fear, and panic.

Satan is good at fraud and manipulation of all people, no matter their interests and academic levels. Therefore, the jealous person (who feels terribly sorry when sees people committing sin), who feels sorry for the sins committed, is fallible and subject to satanic insinuations, but rather he will be at the top of Satan's interests because such a person is more important to Satan than any other person.

Satan insinuates to the jealous person from the point of people have gone astray and they will not be affected by advice or direction because they have disobeyed Allah publicly, and that fact had never witnessed by the nation before, according to him[1]. Such a person looks right and left and finds this true and finds himself facing a large number of sins collected by Satan to the extent that he does not see anything but sins.

At that moment, his power will become weak and Satan adorns to him that people have perished, there is no use of them, and they are expecting a torment from Allah.

Then, he will become a prey to Satan, which will drive him to indulge into these sins which he used to deny because he sees the whole community indulge in them, or he might try to change sins by force.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) warned us against such act when he said: "If a person says: people are doomed, he will be doomed too.[2]"[3]

O jealous person, let it be known that your limits are the limits ordained by Allah to His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them) and the prophets before him. The only thing you can do is reminding, and no harm will touch you if you fulfill it properly. Allah (Glory be to Him) says: "So turn away (O Muhammad peace be upon him) from them (Quraysh pagans), you are not blameworthy (as you have conveyed Allâh’s Message). * And remind (by preaching the Qur’ân, O Muhammad peace be upon him), for verily, the reminding profits the believers." [Surat Adh-Dhariyat: 54-55]. And he says: "So remind them (O Muhammad peace be upon him) — you are only one who reminds. * You are not a dictator over them." [Surat Al Ghashiyah: 21-22].

Your goal is to remind people and not to change their conditions.

Dear brother, if you are troubled by sorrows and grieves, use hope, be firm, work, have trust in Allah, go easy with yourself, comfort your heart, and repeat: " So destroy not yourself (O Muhammad peace be upon him) in sorrow for them. Truly, Allâh is All-Knower of what they do." [Surat Fatir: 8].

[1] I say: according to him because some people may be shocked by reality and thinks that history never witnessed something of the like. However, history witnessed something of the like but he did not read history. It was said: "Read history because it contains lessons. A group of people who do not know history will be doomed.

[2] The Hadith was narrated in two narrations but the one we mentioned is the most famous.

[3] "Sahih Muslim" (2623), from the Hadith of Abu Hurayrah.
