After that there is the resurrection, so what is the resurrection and what is the Proof to it?

The resurrection (Ba’th): sending and distributing

From the Shariah: resurrecting the dead on the Day of Resurrection

• The resurrection has been proven in the book, the Sunnah and the consensus.

From the book: His words Almighty:

{ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّي لَتُبْعَثُنَّ }

“Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected” [Al Taghabun: 7]

From the Sunnah: the Hadith of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) with Muslim that the Prophet (peace be upon him) (said): “Every person will be resurrected in the manner that he died”^[1]

The pious predecessors (may Allah be pleased with them) agreed on the Proof to the resurrection on the Day of Resurrection.

Because of the greatness of the issue of resurrection, its proof came in the Qur'an and Sunnah in many ways. Among them:

1- Sometimes by statement: such as His words Almighty:

{ قل بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّي لَتُبْعَثُنَّ }

“Say: by my Lord! You shall most certainly be raised” [Al Taghabun: 7]

And His words Almighty:

{ وَالْمَوْتَىٰ يَبْعَثُهُمُ اللَّـهُ }

“But the dead - Allah will resurrect them” [Al Anaam: 36]

2- Sometimes by reminding people of their beginnings, such as His words Almighty:

{ فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ   *  خُلِقَ مِن مَّاءٍ دَافِقٍ    *   يَخْرُجُ مِن بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ    *   إِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ   }

“So let man observe from what he was created. He was created from a fluid, ejected. Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. Indeed, Allah , to return him [to life], is Able.” [Al Tariq: 5-8]

3- Sometimes by proving the resurrection by the sprouting of plants (from the earth), such as His words Almighty:

{فَانظُرْ إِلَىٰ آثَارِ رَحْمَتِ اللَّـهِ كَيْفَ يُحْيِي الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۚ  إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمُحْيِي الْمَوْتَىٰ ۖ  وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ }

“So observe the effects of the mercy of Allah - how He gives life to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed, that [same one] will give life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.” [Al Room: 50]

4- Sometimes by pointing it out and pondering on the creation of the heavens and the earth such as His words Almighty:

{ أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّـهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَلَمْ يَعْيَ بِخَلْقِهِنَّ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَىٰ أَن يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَىٰ ۚ  بَلَىٰ إِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ }

“Do they not see that Allah , who created the heavens and earth and did not fail in their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yes. Indeed, He is over all things competent.” [Al Ahqaf: 33]

5- Sometimes by questioning by Allah Almighty about the resurrection because if there was no resurrection there would have been commands, restrictions and a penalty for the resurrection such as His words Almighty:

{أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ}

“Then did you think that We created you uselessly and that to Us you would not be returned?” [Al Muminoon: 115]

6- Sometimes by narrating the stories and realities that prove the resurrection: such as the story of the one who passed by a village that was all empty so Allah Almighty brought death to him for a hundred years then resurrected him, the story of the person killed from Beni Israel, the story of those who were driven out of their homes in thousands who were warned of death, the story of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and the four birds and the story of the companions of the cave.
