Question

As-salamu `Alaykum warahmatullah (May Allah's Peace and Mercy be upon you)!

I ask Allah that you be in perfect health and wellness, O beloved Doctor. I shall start from the beginning and I apologize for being lengthy.

5 years ago I had a terrible fear and I did not know its cause. I could not sleep but when my mother sleeps by my side out of fear. When the fear possessed me, I found sweat, coldness in my limbs, and dryness in my throat. After two years, I went to see a psychiatric who gave me seroxat and serequel because sleep was not regular.

I continued to have this medication for three months then I said to the doctor that I shall stop it because I felt well, and she said: stop it.

Now, I am better, but at night I feel frightened. When I feel so, I do not like going out or being alone in the house, but in the morning I feel like someone else. I laugh, travel, and do everything naturally without fear.

What is wrong with me? And do you advise me to see a second psychiatric or it is over? May Allah protect you from harm!

Answer

Dear valued brother, As-salamu `Alaykum warahmatullah (May Allah's Peace and Mercy be upon you)!

Thanks to Allah that you were recovered. What you feel is the result of that worry, but if you still feel fear, you may take seroxat by taking half a bill daily before sleep. If your fear goes away, it is good otherwise you may take one bill regularly and the dose will be good and the symptoms shall go away by the will of Allah.
