Question

As-salamu `Alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh (May Allah's Peace, Mercy, and Blessings be upon you!).

I have married several months ago, and now I am pregnant, and I love my husband so much. My husband used to love his relative and desires her as a wife, but she refused and married someone else!

Someone sent a message to my husband under the name of his relative and my husband replied to the message. Then that person sent me the message and the reply as if he wanted to expose my husband's relationship with his relative.

We had a fight and I left the house and went to the house of my family. My husband apologized for me and I went back home, but I doubt him very much.

I doubt that he still loves his relative and did not forget her until now. I cannot live with him, how could I be sure of my doubts?

Answer

Wa `Alaykumus-Salam war-Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh (peace be upon you).

My dear sister, all that I can advise you is not to give up to such doubts and insinuations because you still at the beginning of your marital life.

Moreover, you are pregnant, and such negative thinking may affect your health as well as the health of your baby.

Try to ward off these doubts and think how to make you husband happy. Plan for the future life of your children, and ask yourself what will change if you know that your husband still loves her? Are you going to leave him? How would you do that while you are in love with him? Is your doubt that your husband loves her enough to destroy your family?

I see that there are many matters more important to direct your eneregy to such as fearing Allah and obeying Him because that will bring about great psychological comfort and happiness, and do not forget positivity in life.
